At this point, I don't believe the Book of Mormon to be literal. It is a story or mythology meant to teach us eternal truths.

How can you believe that and also believe that Joseph Smith was a true prophet, as well as President Monson being a true prophet?
If you need me to I am pretty certain I can find a quote that points out that it is quite literal.
It is either one or the other, it is either the Book of Mormon is true and tells a history of actual events, or it isn't, and if it isn't then Joseph Smith wasn't a true prophet and neither is President Monson.

You know, I believe that the book of Mormon is true literally. However I don't see the black and white dichotomy that you do. I could see people believing that it's inspiring but not actually true.

Why don't you just PM Watchmen and talk it over, yaddoe?

I figured there were other people reading our posts who would be just as interested in our conversation as I am. I am just trying to come to an understanding of what Watchmen's views are and why. Is there a need for secrecy?
