Nazi's, time travel and the Large Hadron Collider

A while back I read about a scientific research group that hitler established before the end of ww2, they experimented with physics and the paranormal i think, recently a story leaked that those scientists found a way to manipulate time by bending it, so they could manipulate gravity, then a week later I read a newsletter that a lab is busy developing a time machine and portals based on the nazi technology. Then came the freaky part, i've been looking at the LHC experiment for some time now and they havent been able to get the machines to work, then I picked up my mates copy of this aprils South African FHM, which has an article about conspiracies, and one of those conspiracies is that scientists from the "future?" is sabotaging the experiment. Knowing the nature of LHC, I wouldnt be surprized, It could lead to a few things, a black hole being created on earth or a gateway opening to another dimension like hell maybe, i don't know but its freaky.

It may be possible, but I doubt it. If time travel were possible I probably would have figured it out by now. Being able to view the future, now that may be possible. :yes:

I'm with E_O on this one, I think time travel is impossible. Many people think (erroneously) that Einstein proved 4-dimensional spacetime is 3 dimensions of space and 1 of time, and thus a person could move through time just like you move through the other 3. BUT...what Einstein really said was, the cosmos is made of four dimensions of SPACETIME. Spacetime is a single thing, as each length of space is also a measure of time.

Traversing space means a measure of time has also passed. And due to entropy and the irreversability of processes, those moments cannot be retrieved and lived over.

Now, it may be possible to travel to alternate timelines, or parallel worlds. Thats still possible. But time travel? I am willing to bet that travelling backwards in time is impossible. :yes:

Thank you people for the replies. I don't usually read FHM, as for time travel, i agree I don't it's possible, everything continuesly progresses forward down to the last neutron, atom etc.. right? Other alternate timelines or parallel worlds seems more plausible. But in the end I don't like the idea of these experiments, I think of the blackhole theory for the hadron and of stargate or even doom3 scenarios, when it comes to "portals" and "time travel".

When this story started being reported and even the BBC was saying, ''the bloody swiss are going to kill us all'', I have to admit I had an inkling of what I would describe as a morphic or mob panic, but I did what any sensible person would do, I asked a former Rose of Tralee, and she told me that this is happening all the time in space and not to worry, so I don't, and neither should you.

Aaargh, I'm too late. Nepenthe, I you from the future. Although, in my time we're known as Zaphod (formerly known as Muffin Buns, formerly known as Nepenthe, formerly known as Sugriva). Anyway, I came back to stop you from making this post, which was traced back to the root cause of an unfortunate incident involving a guava, a roll of toilet paper, and a hooker named Afro-ditey. I guess, technically, I could back a few more days, but the season finale of American Idol is coming, and I don't want to miss it.

I guess just make sure have acces to Neosporin, Clorox bleach, and metal cutters at all times.

I believe Nepenthe is the pseudonym Sugriva took when he travelled to the past, planning only to stay up to this point to warn the traveller, however having been forced out of self defense to kill (suicide?) his own self who couldn't come to terms with the fact that his future self didn't think Picard was the better captain, he has to stay here now in order to exist in the future. There is in point of fact another Sugriva from further in the future who has travelled back to try and stop the fight, but he prefers Captain Archer, and no one has seen him in a good long while, It's gets very confusing, best not to dwell :cover:
