It seems to me that most people religious or otherwise don't understand the meaning behind the word "Atheist" as in what an atheist means when they refer to themselves as such. Frankly I'm tired and have been of explaining what atheist means to people...

I`ve been an atheist for a very long time and while I`ve had to deal with some persecution and a plethora of moronic theistic idiots I`ve never felt my life was in danger over my lack of belief.

Yeah. Naturalist sounds to me like a vegan hippie living in the woods. Metaphysical to me sounds like hocus pocus stuff like seances and astrology.
