Agnosticism is the philosophical view that the existence of God or the supernatural are unknown and perhaps unknowable.[1][2][3]

According to the philosopher William L. Rowe, "agnosticism is the view that human reason is incapable of providing sufficient rational grounds to justify either the belief that God exists or the belief that God does not exist".[2] Agnosticism is a doctrine or set of tenets[4] rather than a religion.

English biologist Thomas Henry Huxley coined the word "agnostic" in 1869. Earlier thinkers, however, had written works that promoted agnostic points of view, such as Sanjaya Belatthaputta, a 5th-century BCE Indian philosopher who expressed agnosticism about any afterlife;[5][6][7] and Protagoras, a 5th-century BCE Greek philosopher who expressed agnosticism about the existence of "the gods".[8] The Nasadiya Sukta in the Rigveda is agnostic about the origin of the universe.[9][10][11]

I got Protestant. I didn't really like this quiz. Some of the questions don't make sense and the responses don't match what I really think.
Well, sorry. It looked fairly new so I just thought it would be nice to see what I was and then I thought about the larger community.

I'm going to take it again and refine my answers.

You can call me Fio
I got Unitarian Universalist, which is what I've gotten on every religious quiz I've taken so far, despite never being part of that religion. Maybe the Internet is trying to tell me something...

I had to Google several of the choices on the last question, but it was fun learning about Kopimism and Terikyo. :)

I got omnist which simply isn't correct. Question: it always let's you select multiple options in each question, should we only be selecting one unless it says otherwise?

Seems like they all say select all that apply.

I didn't like this test. They need to allow you to say how important each item is to you.

The test told me Unitarian Universalism. What part of "my religion shouldn't be involved in politics" don't you understand? How important is it to me? It's a game changer.

(Unless, of course, the religions entire purpose in to critique church/state interrelations, like the Church of the Flying spaghetti Monster.)

Not sure how I would refine my answers...given the options, some questions I had to answer the "none of the above" option, and several didn't include several options that I would think of that would be appropriate.

That it found me to be agnostic is not at all surprising (at least to me)...While it asked about the importance of practice versus belief, very few of the other questions allowed for answers rooted in practice--it seemed like most of them focused on beliefs...

Certainly one of the better quizzes I've seen in terms of being more representative of the diversity of traditions. Still, it's pretty clear it didn't know what to do with me. "Modern Pagan" was one of the possible outcomes, and I didn't get that. Just because I hold pluralism as a principle value doesn't mean my religion is centered on that.

I got the same thing as before.

It didn't make a difference with me. I got the same thing twice.

Retook it and was more conservative in checking boxes, trying deliberately to get what I am supposed to be classified as. Instead I got something so off base I now begin to wonder what on earth they are considering "Modern Paganism" to be.

I'm guessing they made the mistake of conflating it with Wicca, perhaps.

It would be interesting to find out who designed the quiz.

Clearly someone with a more thorough knowledge of world religions traditions. It seems like much of the time polytheism doesn't register on these types of quizzes and more tradition-neutral language isn't used.

There were a few problems with the quiz, though. The question about images was just completely unworkable. They all displayed horizontally and there was no way to scroll. Some questions were still oriented towards theologies that assume Christian ideas, like the ones about being "saved." I don't understand why they didn't have an option for "I reject the notion that humans need to be 'saved' from anything."
