New strike on Syria without congressional approval.

What will we get from bombing Syria besides more debt and a possible long term conflict?Trump needs congressional approval.

For limited strikes he does not need Congressional approval. However Congressional approval is required for a declaration of war.

Bill Clinton and Kosovo was another similar action made by a sitting president without Congressional approval.

Again, to our very foolish leader, do not attack Syria - If you do many very bad things will happen & from that fight the US gets nothing!
Well there was a reason for which I very much doubt the public would be privy to what exactly the reason is at this point in time. For us we can only speculate for right now.

I'm not very political, but I firmly believe that this video should accompany any thread that mentions Donald Trump.

It should be worth mentioning that we are not alone in this. This was a coordinated effort involving Britain and France as well.

The official line was the strike was in retaliation for the chemical attacks that killed over 40 people. Given that we have three countries involved in this operation and not just the US, there must be some strong evidence linking the Syrian government in the illegal use of chemical weapons justifying a multinational strike against Syria.

Maybe we should also wait and see what Britain and France has to say since they participated with the United States in the bombings.

I have mixed feelings about this. I certainly don't advocate more military involvement in the middle east, but as a father it's hard to see footage of dead and dying children around my son's age.
Aside from the more gallows humor 'Trump and his supporters are hypocrites' this thread was going for, my feelings are this: I wish it would have moved the Trump administration to accept more than 11 (that's eleven) refugees from Syria this year. I think it would do more for those kids than bombing the area they're living. The very thing Republicans and Trump himself condemned (and rightly so imo) Obama doing. As it's just an empty gesture that puts more innocent lives at risk than it helps.

The President needs to be able to take quick action at times. Whether or not it is justified at this time is debatable.

What he has done so far is perfectly legal as far as his actions have gone. I do not think it will do any good, and as I said his actions are debatable as far as effectiveness goes. With all of his troubles it looks an awful lot as if he is doing this as a distraction. But this cannot be used as a weapon against him if and when the impeachment trial starts.

And lets face it, I can't think of a time congress would pull power of the purse anyway.

You already have a long term conflict it is the job of Trump to make it as exhausting and futile as possible. It is best for Trump to not ask for permissions. *Putin smiling at his bathroom mirror in Moscow

Wasn't "No more foreign intervention" kinda a key election promise? Oh well, as long as he's gunna build the Wall and Mexico will pay for it! What? That's not happening either? Oh well, at least he's not playing golf as much as Obama did!

...what?

Why, that's double figures! How many more terrorists do you want to let in? Why do you hate America?
