To all reverence,
I am new to this forum so I imagine I should say some words on myself.
My name is Gorax. It is actually a real name and has nothing to do with the evil ewoks enslaving creatures although you might find some common features I share with them... But Gorax is the transcription of one part of my sanskrit name which means "guardian of cattle" or "calf keeper".
I have a local and cultural concept of what is religion so if I tell you what I believe to be my religion, the name will not sound familiar to you. I believe there are local religions: a Scottish religion, a French religion, different islander religions and so on... which are separate. So mine is some island's religion and it has nothing to do with central religions usually referred to.
But I believe in universal books which are called the IDEAS. I translate them as "ideas" although we could translate them as "knowledge". But etymologically, the word IDEAS is closer to this noun which comes from old sanskrit language. I believe the IDEAS are manifestation of the supreme knowledge in a particular era of the human age. It has been writen for the men and women of the iron age to remember the link with the other ages.
I have deep respect for local religions but also for the religious empires such as christianity or islam. I must acknowledge I may be distrusting in the dream of universalism of this kind of religions when they do not understand nor respect local cultures.
However, I lived since childhood in a multi-religious environment. Muslims and christians were my best childhoods friends and I feel love for them although I disagree on main spiritual aspects of their ideologies.
to all serenity,
Gorax
