Newt wants to deport Muslims who believe in Sharia

So he wants to "deport' American citizens. Or perhaps have them wear Islamic symbols and deport them to camps? I don't expect any more from people like him who hate everything America stands for.

Newt is not an ignorant man, but he is about as dishonest as the day is long, plus he's the master of political hyperbole. He knows damn well that charging someone with a felony for verbally supporting even a terrorist group would violate the 1st Amendment's Free Speech Clause, and deporting those Muslims who may support shari'a would violate the Equal Protection Clause of the 14th Amendment, but he mouths these anyway to appeal to low-information voters.

Yeah I can see where this is going. They are going to "test" Muslims and I guess having a belief now can get you thrown out. Jews were persecuted and put in camps. Muslims may go through the same thing here.

This is nothing more than using a basis of Muslims following Sharia to put forward the idea that Muslims want Sharia to be the law of whatever nation they live in. It is fear-mongering.

Really, this isn't much different from saying all Jews are suspected Communists. People say "there's a lot of Jews in leading roles in the Bolshevik Revolution, so it must Be a Jewish conspiracy to undermine the White Aryan race". Screw the fact they are German citizens protected by the law- "we will deprive them of their citizenship because only Aryans can be citizens and their rights then we can do what we want."

Fast forward a century and you have someone saying people of "Muslim background" (Arabs?) are suspected of being engaged in a conspiracy to undermine the white races "western civilisation" by introducing sharia law. So treating them as enemy aliens when in reality the majority are US citizens with constitutionally protected rights will have predictable results. I Didn't see the connection before.

My sympathies to all the Muslims on RF, as no matter what you believe, you shouldn't have to put up with this level of hatred. Whatever criticisms people may have of Islam it should not extent to depriving Muslims of their protections as citizens to deport them. I'm not sure whether to be sad or angry because this has Nuremberg written all over it.
