Apparently a license plate that say "8theist" (because "atheist" was already rejected) is, in their words, "may carry connotations offensive to good taste and decency".

Grounds for a lawsuit on the basis that the reason given is unconstitutional. One can only hope it happens but, litigious as the US is, I'm not holding my breath on this. The US government can be notoriously fascist at the best of times, even when it is compliant with the US Constitution!
