But what about when the majority of people in an given area or society agree with those ideas? Should the minority be able to overrule them simply because they believe they're factually right?
I think the heart of the problem is that our own sense of self-righteousness, we think, justifies our desire to control the lives and behaviors of others. And that occurs whether we are actually righteous, or not. And then how do we tell, when everyone has different ideas about what's righteous?
Its not hard to differentiate between what is harmful and what is not, If you see an old man trying to rape a child would you try to stop him or you would say "maybe he is right ?", Same thing when you see people trying to spread the harmful ideas, If the majority in some place agrees that hurting innocent people is not bad that doesn't make it right, IMO Any sane human being can compare two actions and see which one is better.
What do you mean by "ritual"?
Also - why do you consider "miracles" to be events that "break the rules"?
What i mean by rituals is the same meaning in the Dictionary :
rituals : a religious or solemn ceremony consisting of a series of actions performed according to a prescribed order.
As an Ex-Sunni "muslim" i was ordered to "pray" / bow 5 times a day and when i grew up i found that what i was doing is pretty much futile because there was no clear wisdom for those movements and their numbers that's why i don't believe in rituals are anymore because they all seems futile
And i mean by miracles those that breaks the rules of physics so badly, like for example a flying horse going to the heavens, I don't know what to call them other than miracles / myths
It is up to the individual liberal to decide for themselves if they believe in Prophets.
There is no orthodoxy in liberalism.
In case it is not clear to you, being a liberal is not necessarily being part of a religion. It’s about finding your own path to God.
I see, But i guess some of them may believe in Rituals and miracles ?
