No time for Salat?

What do Muslims do when they have no time for praying because it how long it takes? Is there a quick form of it?

Prayers are reduced during travel, which is a valid reason as the burden travel lays on a person.

Let's suppose one prayer takes 10 mins. Is it really hard to manage less than one hour of a 24 hour day for praying for our own sake?

If one is getting into the habit of prayers it may seem tough at first. But believe me it isn't a challenge once one establishes a habit and find satisfaction in submitting to their lord.

2 of the 5 daily prayers should be no problem at all:

- The early morning (dawn) prayer, as this prayer is done first thing in the morning before starting work, ... etc.

- The evening (Isha) prayer, as this prayer can be the last thing one does at night before going to sleep

As for the other three prayers during the day:

- The noon (Zuhr) prayer can be done during the lunch hour (5 to 10 minutes).

- The afternoon (Asr) prayer, can be done during the coffee break (5 to 10 minutes)

- The sunset (Maghrib) prayer can be done as one leaves work during the summer, or in the winter if it's due before work finishes, it will also take around 10 minutes, maximum

It is very important to connect with God during these 5 times of the day, as it is we who need Him, not the other way round

When you think of the 5 daily prayers as food for the soul, you will look forward to the time being due for the next prayer

This article deals with the beauty of prayer in Islam, which I hope you will find useful:

It's a question of priority.
If you believe that your relationship with God is important you will have time for it.

Compared to the time spent doing chores, watching TV, sleeping then prayers don't take long. Of course you can be as slow and thoughtful or as fast and thoughtless as you like in saying prayers.
It's like every other relationship:- as rewarding as you want it to be and make an effort for it to be.

Do you have to be exact for the times you pray? If you're a student or you work could you wait till you get home after school or your job to pray?

Flexibility is possible but again it depends on your intention. Beware; if flexibility is an excuse to delay prayer it maybe the first step to ceasing to pray.

Hazrat Khalifatul Mash V said The meaning and explanation of the Quranic verse: ‘And I have not created the Jinn and the men but that they may worship Me’. Real worship is keeping God’s pleasure in view in every matter. Real worship of God is when earning a livelihood is also done according to the commandments of God and not with lies and deception and while forgetting God. Rights of worship of God are not fulfilled merely by offering Salat. This was explained in last Friday sermon. If other commandments of God are not kept in view then offering Salat is of no use. For example if truthfulness is not adhered to in every matter, then coming to mosque to offer Salat will not be real worship of God. Similarly rancour, malice, jealousy and many other ills destroy the essence of worship of God. One becomes a real servant of God when God’s pleasure is kept in view in every matter.
