amor aeternus est
I was involved with the UU though CUUPS for a long time. And I also ended my association due to the congregations insistence of treating politics at the level of faith. The reverence to one political party was held at the level of dogma, any dissent was considered heresy which felt quite odd but shunning is still used. That's just human nature and the nature of one congregation. The experience has left me wondering if it is possible for any faith to keep politics outside of it.
