Why are the shelves empty? Whether you want to believe it not, the virus spreads when many people come into contact with many other people.

The factories that pack meat use people to pack the meat. They have closed to avoid (slow) spreading the virus.

Ditto canned goods.
Ditto paper products.
Ditto, ditto, ditto.

And let me walk on you through this abundance. It's already packed. It's already in warehouses waiting to be distributed. In case it's already in the back room. But it's harder to distribute with such an overload. People could have shopped as normal and we'd be fine. But they paniced and selfishly hoarded. There need be no such worryof an over loaded medical system, but people are so stupid and selfish and acted in ways that disredarded all safety precautions without real reason to do so.
This virus is nothing. Humans, however, have proven they are so stupid and dangerous that aliens won't visit our they exist. Just look at the danger we post to eachother as we merrily laugh along the way.

Use cash that's been touched by God only knows who? Or tap buttons on the machine used by every finger licking, booger picking, credit card user in your state?

"Comingling" is part of the human situation.
Anybody who can totally self isolate doesn't matter to anybody else. Nobody will care that they're in isolation. They don't do anything important.

If you can honestly say that the world will get along without you personally then you aren't worth getting medical treatment.

Why would the rest of us care? Some machine can probably do everything you do, except use up food and air and such.

I go online to buy many things as I have done for years.
Months ago I started using Walmart online grocery shopping and pickup. I'd rather pick out grocery items on my screen than in the store because it's faster and more convenient.
As of this week, I choose items online and have them delivered.

The only buttons that get tapped are those on my keyboard.

For most people this virus posses little threat. However, thay does not mean go out and party. Chances are it won't make you that sick. But if your elderly and have various complicating conditions, its a different story. Thats why we don't go out.

Being unafraid doesn't mean you condone selfish reckless behavior. Looking at facts doesn't mean you downplay it. By far people have been far worse than this virus. Exactly, and we also should add that Trump said it would be gone by Easter and so many on the right believed him. He obviously didn't cause the virus, but his actions, and also the inept actions of many of the Republican governors, is insane and should be criminal.
