Godzilla (the '98 version) was the first monster movie i watched, and i loved it. I still enjoy it to this day, though mostly because its nostalgic and fun to poke at. Me and my sisters incessantly quote it :D

Spiderman 2 is also a movie i adore and enjoyed watching.

Yay Godzilla!! Also I own the Rami Spiderman trilogy on DVD because it is awesome, flaws and all.

Hmm, guilty pleasures could probably be a topic in and of itself. :D

Ah, if we can expand to TV series, I could discuss Xena. At the time, Xena stood alone as a female warrior archetype to inspire young girls. It's still a good series, but watching it as an adult (or more importantly, as a Pagan) it is hard to stomach how that series (and Hercules) bastardizes Pagan religion and mythos. Dionysus as a Satan figure? Really?

Xena was awesome. But yeah, if Hades isn't Satan in one of the Greek/Roman retellings it's Dionysus. Just wow.

Precisely...so many inaccuracies in both Hercules and Xena, as for mythological tales. A very modernized version of Ancient Greece. Kevin Sorbo was interesting..though:D

Actually...the archetype to inspire dy***...oops...lol..I mean dynamic girls.

Oh wow. Old puppet based shows kind of terrify me. Thunderbirds etc. The eyes stare into your soul. (Team America is the only one I like and even then, the puppets will eat my soul!!)

Ironically? I rather liked the original Thunderbirds-- and watched the whole series. They remade the show in computer-driven animation. It was, unfortunately, utterly ruined by trying to be PC.... oh well.

anyone remember.....XL5

puppet show in outer space

Yes-- I watched 2 or 3? I forget, episodes of that, when I watched Supercar. It was... about as bad as Supercar. Think: Speed Racer, only with wire-guided puppets and 90% worse voice acting. :D

The model building was pretty darn good, though. The miniature model maker in me appreciated that very much. Especially Thunderbirds. :)

Remember, this was in the 1950s and early 1960s, when plastic fabrication was in it's infancy. Likely they did it all in ... wood. :D

Aww. Well I think I caught an ep of the New Thunderbirds, didn't pay much attention to it. But I'll admit, there was something lost in the presentation.
