Not a vegetarian anymore.

"By contrast, when animal husbandry is practiced at the highest standards, the grass-fed cows raised in pastures and the cage-free chickens raised in open pens arguably have the most pain-free, hunger-free, stress-free lives of all animals on earth. In exchange for their meat, they enjoy the most mutually beneficial relationship with humans outside that of our beloved house pets."

Delusional, but then just one person's opinion.

"Results:
Both vegetarian diets and prudent diets allowing small amounts of red meat are associated with reduced risk of diseases, particularly CHD and type 2 diabetes. There is limited evidence of an association between vegetarian diets and cancer prevention. Evidence linking red meat intake, particularly processed meat, and increased risk of CHD, cancer and type 2 diabetes is convincing and provides indirect support for consumption of a plant-based diet."

And my attachments to "can not eat meat" or " i must not eat meat" are gone :)

My choice to not eat meat has nothing to do with attachments and everything to do with dharma and the resulting karma.

I do no longer bring my own food

I'm not sure I ever did this. If I go to someone's house for food, I eat "around the meat," which is to say I only eat vegetarian items. If there are no vegetarian items for me to eat, I wait until the next meal.

There are those that already know I'm vegetarian and prepare vegetarian selections if they know I will be in attendance, though I make it clear I don't want them to go out of their way to do so.

It's not hard work is it, taking into account friend's wishes and requirements. We always buy dairy milk when folk are coming round (because being Brits all visitations must involve the drinking of tea :D ).

I read this entirely wrong.

Those horrible images aren't going away anytime soon. :fearscream:
I am glad you didn't "picture" the images, I have no clue, and better keep it that way, reading your post

Reading on RF can be very "dangerous" indeed:D

Some women say chocolate or icecream works miracles to "solve" certain mental stuff

I better not ask you if it's gone next week:)

I've been saying it all along as qith others. We evolved as omnivores. Meat is essential for proper brain health.
That must explain why I'm so stupid. 50 years with no brain food, little wonder I'm as dumb as I am. All those dumb Indian physicists, doctors, and engineers as well. Just think what they could have accomplished if they would have eaten meat all those years.

Twilight Hue

Twilight, not bright nor dark, good nor bad.

If you were smart.

I'd read the article, for which it says the meat helps with the prevention of aliments like dementia and alzheimer's and such.

I only passed all my exams by cheating.
