Now I shall try write my posts in this forum without google translate. I want to try practice the english language

You are doing great, nothing in your post suggests you are not a native English speaker.

We have been in the same boat, we moved to france from england 5 years ago. I could speak around 20 words of french. Google translate literally kept our heads above water for a couple of years. Now i only use it occasionally when i come across a word ive not heard before or to verify official documents.

I might try it if ever offered it.
But I don't get to MN or da UP often.

A Dutch friend has a restaurant and offers it during summer for the north European tourists. I had some, ok, like cod but with a squidgy texture.

Hmmm...I'm not missing much.
Ever tried Surstromming?
Or rotten shark?

Tasting surstromming is a once in a lifetime event, once is enough for me. But I'm told some people like it
I have eaten shark, but not rotten, I'll eat almost anything edible but draw the line at rotten food

There are some dishes I'll never try...
Rocky mountain oysters
Raw oysters & clams
Balut
Casu marzu
And the ultimate in ick...live monkey brain.

Ive had oysters, i don't particularly like the texture, but i do have mussels now and again.

As a joke friends brought us some casu marza back from their holiday last year. They didn't tell us what it was until we had eaten some. The aftertaste put me off a second bite

Not had any of the rest but beef brain was common when i was a kid

I won't link what live monkey brain is about.
Let's just say that you will never ever try it.

Oh I did not know you are english and have moved to France. France language is so beautiful, do you like living in France? Do you think the france language was difficult to learn?
