I don't think it's just our society, there are many societies, even small villages out in the middle of nowhere where some type of covering is common and considered the norm, then there are some that don't. I find it interesting that some people that have had almost zero contact with the outside world have developed ways to obscure their bodies from public viewing whether with a simple leaf or bamboo tube, and it's not just to protect their more tender areas when in the jungle, forests, etc, they wear it in their villages as well so the compulsion to cover oneself extends beyond the "civilized" worlds training. Interestingly enough, you generally don't see the children in the same villages where adults cover themselves covering themselves- it only happens when they get older, possibly when they reach sexual maturity?

I agree, nudity can be non-sexual but sexuality is a part of our human-animal makeup. To completely seperate nudity from sexuality is unrealistic. Let's say a woman and a man walk down the street nude, not really a big deal, like a nudist colony. Let's say that these same nude people are walking down the street and are sexually aroused (which happens), the man has an erection and the womans vagina is wet, it's a different story.

I find nothing offensive about nudity or sexuality, what I do find offensive is that it is generally used by slick advertisers to help sell products/fill in time in a poorly scripted movie as a substitute for intelligent plot or dialog (unless it's porn- it's honest about it's intention and content-generally, LOL ) or to cheaply titillate with little effort, it doesn't even have to be visual, just the word "sex" attracts attention and will keep some glued to the T.V. It's not the nudity or the sex I find offensive, but the the seemingly general idea in our society that the cheap use of it compensates for mediocrity.

So if we would say nudity is OK then it would be the equivalent of saying sexual arousal is OK then we would have to find a way to end that arousal , that burning sensation that has to be dealt with somehow.... so it will be either by masturbation or by sex .

Your premise is wrong. In the many nude beaches and nude swimming halls I have been to in Europe, I have not seen one erection. Nudity IS okay - it is the preocupation with sex or the supression of sex that is not okay.

I would say that the "up-tightness" of some does more damage. Extremes of most pleasures causes more damage.
