Hi T-Dawg,
Well I did and cutting taxes (for 95% of Americans) was his biggest and most repeated campaign promise. He has broken that and will break it in the future.
Please, please join the rest of the world. What is going on in Europe right now? Their out of control spending and debt is killing their already sluggish economies. They are destroying their economies right now and guess how they are doing it? Tax and spend, tax and spend and tax and spend. And Obama is mimicking the failed economic policies of Europe and you deride any sense of fiscal discipline as leading to the destruction of the US economy. That's rich.
How about Obama's spendathon known as a stimulus? He promised that unemployment wouldn't go above 8%, well look at it now as it hovers around 10% (and that doesn't even count the people who have stopped looking).
The American people don't trust Obama on the economy, it’s that simple. And no amount of class warfare agitprop will change that.
Obama finally has something he has never had or wanted; a record. And the American people are not happy with it.
The hell they don't. Gridlock saved Clinton's presidency. And big Republican gains this November could actually help Obama's re-election hopes. If nothing happens, then the private sector could return to some sense of sense of normalcy and could actually grow.
Well, then Obama's a moron for thinking he could lower taxes and still have a successful economy, or that he could keep unemployment that low without reforming the private sector. I always thought lowering taxes was a conservative idea, though? If I recall, though, your precious Reagan did a much similar thing - blabbering on about low taxes and small government, and then raising taxes for the majority of Americans and increasing spending.
Right, because Europe's ecomomy is worse than ours.
You seem to be under the conclusion that since "tax and spend" apparently causes debt, we should NOT tax but continue to spend. That is ridiculous, as shown by the failed presidencies of Bush and Reagan. Even if people don't trust Obama on the economy (which most do, for some reason I'll never understand), they trust the Republicans even less. You aren't going to get people to forget about the 8 years before Obama. There's too much resentment stored up for you to get elected again anytime soon. People blamed the Depression on Herbert Hoover, and they're blaming the current Recession on Bush. There's no way the Republicans are going to gain seats this election, especially since they don't even have any solutions of their own, as we've already stated. People who see the "poison pill" that Engyo mentioned wouldn't dare vote Republican.
You're just being plain dishonest by claiming that the world is on your side.
