Obama: Christians need to act more like Pope Francis

The Pope is not a Christian leader, That's my point. He's a Catholic leader of the Catholic Church for, you guessed it, Catholics.
Catholics are Christians, so he is a Christian leader. Just like the Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople is a Christian leader or the Archbishop of Canterbury. It's just that Catholics view him as the leader of the Christian Church and all the other denominations disagree.

I've never heard of the 'Christian Church' or a Christian Leader. I've only ever heard of the Catholic Church and the Pope who is only a Catholic Leader.

Er, you've never heard of the body of Christians referred to as the Christian Church? o_O Body of Christ?

And Catholics are Christians, therefore making him a Christian leader.

Only a Catholic thinks he is a leader, so why use the term Christian when it only applies to a certain Christian (ie- A Catholic). It's nonsensical.

I've heard of it, But not that Body of Christ means Christian Church I don't know where you get that from.

Only a Catholic thinks he is a leader, so why use the term Christian when only a certain Christian (ie- A Catholic) would agree? It's nonsensical.
I'm pretty sure the Orthodox view him as a leader, as he is the Bishop of Rome, but they don't accept that he has more authority than the other bishops, which is the main point of contention between Catholic and Orthodox Christians.

I've heard about all that, Metis, but I don't see any massive campaign to help the poor. It's not that the Vatican does not have immense wealth at its disposal to create continent-wide programs.
But it does have a vast network to help the poor throughout much of the world, plus the current pope was very involved in helping the poor in Argentina. Sorry, but he has shown great compassion for the poor and acted on it, contrary to the implications of your posts. We need more people like him, imo-- and I ain't Catholic.

All Catholics are Christians but not all Christians are Catholics. He's a Christian leader but a Catholic to be specific.

He is a Christian leader but not the Christian leader.

Well, he's a politician and actually made it into the White House. That right there is a good sign that he's a liar. If he actually did anything to shake things up, he'd be assassinated by now. It's business as usual.
Something similar is true for Popes: anyone who's capable of thriving and moving up through the organization of the Catholic Church and getting approved by the College of Cardinals isn't going to be that revolutionary.
