Meh.

No need for such fanciness when praying in public.

Then again, why pray in public? For a mostly christian country they should be praying hidden on the dark or in churches, as the bible says xD.

They should have it set it so you have to insert a quarter then select which religion you are associated with so one can perform proper prayer.
If you are a Muslim it should give you a foot, knee and head rest for prostration.
A hindu should be allowed to a Vishnu or Siva murti.
:D this thought just tickles my soul for some reason.

This might sound odd, but whats wrong with praying in public? I mean, its not like its harming anyone.

Truly... point blank... this is a weird little device.

If Churches and Houses of Worship were just left open people could go inside and prayer to their hearts content...

....and not have to worry about a line up at the booth.

It's both funny and a bit condescending. As far as the problem with public prayer, I don't technically have a problem with it, but one time, I was driving down the road, coming up on a stop light, and there was a guy standing on the sidewalk with a loudspeaker, and he hadn't said anything for a moment, and I didn't even notice him there. Just as I was pulling up next to him, getting ready to stop at the light, he started talking, loudly, and scared the crap out of me, causing me to hit the gas, and nearly darting out into traffic. Other than this, it creates a public nuisance. Also, at least here in the states, while Christians are allowed to preach and pray on every street corner, have a Hindu or Muslim do that, and they'd be forced to stop, mostly by the Christian population, and possibly jailed. It's hypocritical, and that's a big problem I have with it.

I enjoy watching public pray when I pass it. It can be informative.

Once I was in a cab in Edmonton, when the driver turned and asked if he could stop and pray.
He also said he'd shut off the meter.

My Wife and I said of course.
We made sure he knows he can take his time, we were in no rush.

He pulled into a parking lot and opened the trunk,
took out a jug of water and a prayer rug.

He sat on the curb and preformed wudu, dried himself,
and then rolled his rug out right there next to the passenger side of the car and began to pray.

15 mins later we were back on our way.

I thought that was very cool and very brave.
I was glad he asked.

He was very grateful.

So were we.

it is an issue in the UK and France. Masjid and Mosque are far too inadequate so people flood outside and fill up entire streets during obligatory salat prayers. I respect other people's religions along as they don't cause traffic jams :D

Right on man. Prayer is a beautiful thing in life.

Can't say I've ever run across anything I'd even mildly consider offensive.....
