Offering food to your diety

Well I was just wondering, wouldn't they like somethng new?(I use Asatru as an example) don't you think the gods might be sick of mead? Try giving them vodka, or for food a tikka massala?
I mean sure its not authentic, but it is a modern world, we are more globalised, surely the gods have advanced too.

I've offered a wide variation: wine, mead, beer, rum, coffee, cocoa, pizza, cookies, brown bread (traditional New England canned), and--I'm sure it is their favorite--hot dogs.

What do you offer, Antibush?

Well I am somewhat new to the whole Pagan thing, I am trying out a load of gods to see which ones call to me.
But I did offer a mulled wine to the Zues once.

I know Yinepu (Anubis) likes rum. Why don't you try offering him some and see what happens? He might be sending you that message

Hmmm maybe I should, when I get some.
What should I do? I don't really have an altar. What should I say?

Go outside (or stay inside), envision what Anubis means to you, say "Here you go, here's some rum as a gift," set it down, and reflect.

Really reflect.

Incline your mind toward Yinepu, say: this is for you, set it on a table or something, and then go back and consume it later. Thank Yinepu for sharing it with you. If you're lucky he might visit you in a dream

Anubis is an embodiment of death, maybe thats just my lack of research into the guy.

He is also associated with Wepwawet, the wolfish war god whose name means "Opener of the Way," and in this guise is something of scout (Wepwawet - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia) and associated with divination.

From Alan Richardson's Earth God Rising:

In his role as Lord of Magic, Anubis could see the past and future with ridiculous ease. In fact he was the past and future, for he also came to be described as Time.

What seems to matter is that you feel that what you are offering is what They would like, and that it is a true sacrifice to Them.

I usually don't offer food or drink to my deities... but I did once offer my favorite Halloween candy to the local spirits during Samhain.. mmm..... Smarties....
