Office of the Former President?

No I was asking if you meant if anyone felt sorry for Melania Trump.
Btw here Melania is worshipped like a goddess. A symbol of class, femininity...the only FLOTUS which will remain impressed as political and social symbol.
Also because one of our main industries is fashion and she worked in that field.
Of course I feel sorry that Americans did not appreciate her enough. The fact she is European and not American played a role in that, I guess.;)

She didn't bake cookies for the troops and personally deliver them.

Who here feels sorry for Trump, show of hands?

1 Hand raised.
I do not feel sorry for Trump.
he made his bed and now it is time to lay in it.

I do feel sorry for those he hurt.
Those he still has not paid.
those he screwed over to feed his own ego.

And I am talking about all of them.
the ones he screwed during his presidency and before and even those he will screw over in the future.

But I do not feel a single inkling of a lick of sorry for Trump himself.

I'd prefer that ex-Presidents get no funding
other than a retirement package appropriate
for the wage they earned in office. No office
funding, no security, no nuthin else.

Because you cannot imagine anyone feeling sorry for Donald Trump?

In your earlier post, you asked if anyone felt sorry for Trump. You didn't say if you were referring to Donald or Melania Trump (or any of the other Trumps). So that's why I asked.

What's to feel sorry for? I had no respect for him before the election and have less now.

I wonder where they'll put the Trump Presidential Library.

I note that the former presidential benefits also include a guaranteed funeral ceremony with full honors - and the option to be buried at Arlington National Cemetery.

I wonder if there will be any Trump memorials or statues or anything named after him. Reagan and Bush got airports named after them. There's a Richard M. Nixon Freeway in California.

Actually, former presidents do get funding for an office and staff.

Pensions and Perks for Former Presidents - Foundation - National Taxpayers Union (ntu.org)

It doesn't appear Trump would qualify for lifetime health benefits, though.

His impeachment could rescind these benefits, except for lifetime Secret Service protection, which is covered under a separate law.

As if he, among the fattest of DC
fat cats needs money from taxpayers for
his Healthcare.

I will believe in American demoracy when your
House of Lords doesn't vote imperial benefits
for utself, would be ashamed to.

How can one feel sorry for a gropy boy??? And then he reduced Americas world standing to the point of joke. No, i cannot feel sorry for the petulant man child
Sorry, it is just my nature to be compassionate, and he is psychologically disturbed. Then there's this:

Matthew 7:1-3 Judge not, that ye be not judged. For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again. And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?

I feel a lick of sorry because I see the disturbed man...

I don't know who you are referring to as those he hurt, but if you are talking about his followers, I don't feel sorry for them. Anyone stupid enough to believe him in spite of all the evidence that there was no stolen election gets what they deserve.

I am afraid i judge anyone who thinks having money is a licence to sexually assault women.

I judge anyone who uses alternative "facts" (in other words BS) to justify ignoring covid and playing golf while thousands of people are dying because of his neglegence.

I won't go on, you know what i would say anyway.

What's to feel sorry for?
My academic background is psychology so I can see what is beneath his behavior.
I had no respect for him before the election and have less now.
I never said I have respect for him, I don't.
Don't let Donnie con you into thinking he's the victim with his magical language. Remember, propaganda targets your emotions.
I was never conned, I just feel sorry for anyone who suffers, it's my nature, but it is also my nature to seek justice so I think he should be punished appropriately.

However, it was not just him that is to blame, it was also the senators and those in congress who backed him as well as his followers that carry part of the responsibility for what happened. I believe in free will so people can choose to do the right thing or not.
