Old stories of the Native Americans, Greeks, Romans and others

I believe through my research that the peoples who made these stories were in it for the betterment of their people. A way to teach people concepts that were extremely complex and could be related to in these stories, as an atheist these are the religions that make the most sense to me and if i wanted to, I would follow.

Right, but let's not throw the baby (good religious intentions) out with the bath water. Atheists often focus too much on just the bath water in my opinion.

The problem is is that, a religions over all effect can be negative though they're maybe some positives

Like the extremist christians blowing abortion clinics vs the nice ones donating money and food to third world countries and even to the homeless here in the states

I would argue though that the latter outweighs the former, at least now a days, considering christianity all about wiped out other worldly religions of ancient times do their "call to action" by their bible.
