Oneness of Brahman and Shakti

Arav

Jain
I thought this was interesting and felt I should share it. Ramakrishna said this:

He who is Brahman is also Shakti. When thought of as inactive, He is called Brahman, and when thought of as Creator, Preserver, and Destroyer, He is called the Primordial Energy, Kali.
Brahman and Shakti are identical, like fire and its power to burn. When we talk of fire we automatically mean also its power to burn. Again, the fire’s power to burn implies the fire itself. If you accept the one you must accept the other.

I look at this as saying that Shakti is the energy or power of Brahman. Therefore they are not different.

I wonder if the concept is the same in all Hindu groups?

In Gaudiya Vaishnavism, there exists God and the emanation of God, Shakti, or Krishna, and Radha.

While Krishna is the Energetic, Radharani is the Energy. Krishna is the Powerful, while Radharani is the Power. When you have fire, the automatic emanation from the fire is heat and light; without the fire, there is no heat and light, and heat and light make the automatic inference that there is fire.

So thus one is inseparable without the other. Purusha needs its Shakti. Shakti is inseparable without Purusha. The entire cosmic manifestation had its original source, and the creative impetus to formulate the entire material existence. :)

I have looked into some of Gaudiya Vaishnavism and I have read that Radha is the internal potency of Krishna. Radha is the manifestation of that internal energy of Krishna. Therefore, they are one.

That is the beauty of achintya-bheda-abheda-tattva...

Its all Energy, one is dormant the other active!

That is Brahman and all all forms of gods including kali.
