Open Carry Guns at Polling Places in 2020

Do you remember this? I suspect worse will happen in this election. Pure voter intimidation. May be a good reason to vote early or by mail.

“I’m here to protect a peaceful protest,” said Keith Owen, who carried a black, semiautomatic assault rifle and wore a handgun in a holster strapped to his leg. His vest held extra ammunition. He described himself as a veteran who served in Afghanistan and now lives in Arizona.
He was among roughly 100 Trump supporters gathered for a third straight day Friday in front of the Phoenix elections center, where hundreds of workers were processing and counting ballots.
“We just want them to know we won’t let them get away with anything. We want to make sure all the legal ballots are counted, and fairly,” said another rifle-bearing protester, Travis Fillmore, 34, a military veteran from Tempe, Arizona.
“Arrest the poll workers!” the crowd chanted, demanding four more years in office for Trump. Sheriff’s deputies kept protesters in a “free speech” zone away from the entrance to the building.
In Detroit, dozens of Trump supporters returned to the streets Friday outside the city’s convention center, where election workers counted ballots.
“Stop the steal!” the protesters chanted. Some carried signs that read, “Make Elections Fair Again” and “We Love Trump.” Police cordoned off streets leading to the building and maintained a close watch on the protest.
The county treasurer in Detroit, Eric Sabree, said he had closed his office because of threats. In a statement, Sabree said the decision was made “in the interest of the safety of taxpayers and our staff” and because of “credible information” from the sheriff’s office.

Twilight Hue

Twilight, not bright nor dark, good nor bad.

So what does posting an old 2020 article based on politically motivated fear mongering has to do with today?

Sounds totally desperate over what is nothing.

This is why democrats want to vote early and avoid election day chaos and possible controntations and violence. Oddly conservatives tend to vote on election day so if they pull protests at polling places they might end up losing Trump votes. I plan to vote early some time this week. It'll be interesting to see if the early voting is higher than previous years.

So far, 13 million have voted early. Georgia and North Carolina have broken records for early voting.

I am voting tomorrow. Or maybe tonight. But I will turn in my ballot tomorrow. We have mail in ballots here, but we also have drop boxes. I used mail in voting long before it became the only way to vote here. My precinct was hard to find and it would always be dark and often raining on election day when I was able to vote. Mail in made it sooooo much easier. Back then we had to buy our own stamps, but I always had some. Now the state pays the postage, and since I practically never mail anything myself I am rather pleased with that. Though again, I plan to use a drop box where no stamp is needed anyway.

Vote early and vote often:D, that is unless you are a Republican. In that case you should listen to Trump and vote on January 5th or before. I would suggest Christmas. Turning in your Trump ballots on Christmas Day would be a perfect present for Trump.

When I lived in Indiana it was easy for years. Just go down to a church not even few miles down the road and pull the levers and be on your way. But when Reps got stupid about closing polling centers I had to go over 10 miles to from where I lived to go to town to vote. When I was in college, must have been the 14 election, I would have had to have traveled over 50 miles to go to the court house in another county to cast a vote that wouldn't have counted for **** anyways and then head back to school. So I didn't vote that year.
