Hey guys!

I found this Youtube video about some opinions on Saudi people and I thought I'd share it with you. I know that this is only one side and no peoples are perfect, but this video does show opinions nevertheless.

It goes back and forth with the same persons, so I guess you will have to see it all, and cope with some of the random stuff said by one of them that kinda does not make sense because of not being shot in full for them. Also, sorry for having the lady blurred out. It was the author, and by our standards it does not mean belittling women. The bigger picture and the main point are what matter after all.

That video is propaganda. Women are slaves, and most men, not all, are their oppressors. Want proof? Look at their laws.

Maybe you're right, and I don't disagree, but you're talking about a different subject. And laws are not put by the bystanders, you know.

I disagree with regime . but if about Saudis (the people)

Since I lived their , I am witness , inspite some bad remarks about how treating the simple workers, the Saudis are the most generous and kind people on the earth .

Opinions about Saudi people

My opinion is that there are many good-hearted people (like in almost all societies). I can believe common crime is not a significant issue at all. But they scare me with their strict culture in regards to free speech, freedom of action, freedom for women, freedom of/from religion, freedom of expression, freedom of information, etc.. I don't know how I ever would have even learned about the things most important to me now if I was a born Saudi. Too may Saudis are too enculturated to not think openly. Hooray for free and open societies.

I am going to sound racist here but I wonder if Saudi people are not innately as 'individualistic' as people of European descent.

As for the last sentence, I don't really know myself. I do understand how you feel about it tho.

I don't know any Saudis except for that @Smart Guy.
Are you the only one posting here?
Would Saudi women be able to post here?

As far as the video goes, the opinions of a few people from a video produced by unknown sources is not significant. It could easily be a total fabrication. Given the lies that pass for politics in the US, I'm skeptical. And given how Saudi Arabia is promoting Salafist Islam which to me is directly responsible for a lot of the terrorism we see today, I'm even less trustful of the video.

But as far as Saudi people go, they are like all other people - some good and some bad. I try to avoid stereotyping someone because of his or her background.

Well the people should have more say in the law. After all they are what keeps the nation going. Making, buying, repairing. They do it. Not the government.

My opinion is that they like all Muslims are not following the Qur'an (6:159; 3:103, 105; 30:31-32.) They are practicing sectarianism and division, both of which are against the Qur'an.

I hear that they are very sexist but I don't know if that is true.

Well, for one, there is a death penalty for homosexuality.
It's illegal in most American states to smoke pot, but there are still a ton of pot heads. Laws of the state is not synonymous with approval of the people.
All I can say about the Saudi citizens is that they tolerate their government to much.

Then again, I would also say that about the vast majority if not all people and states.
Pretty much.

What? Me worry?
All Saudis drive new Mercedes. That's suspicious.

BTW I liked the beard on that girl that spoke first on the video.

Despite certain negative feelings towards the culture and especially Islam, I don't discount all the people - lots of good-hearted, honest folks there and in the nearby countries.

Don't agree with the chivalry comments of the video.

I think if you do a quick search on the public opinion of homosexuality in Saudi Arabia, you'd change how you felt.
