Opinions on same sex marriage/homosexuality

Same sex marriage rights and equality for all GLBTQs are a must. I'm bisexual, and have identified myself as one semi-openly since I was in my early 20's, and secretly since I was in my early teens. So obviously my opinions on homosexuality are extremely favorable. :)

Orly? Wutchu doing later? ;)

Haha, jk.

"guess it's just the result of being the hot topic these days..."

It is not a "hot topic these days"; it has been an ongoing issue, in the States, since Thomas Jefferson, got the punishment for homosexuals acts upgraded from death to castration; to 1962 when Illinois become the first state to decriminalize homosexuals act; onward to today, where we are still have to fight for our unalienable rights. The only difference today is that our voice has become so loud that not even the people with their head up their *** can ignore us anymore.

What astounds me, is how apathetic, some of you appear, to an obvious violation of the unalienable rights, not of homosexuals, but fellow Americans.

the worst is just knowing that one day future generations will see things as clearly as we do now, and they will laugh at how long it took us.

it's just such a simple issue, i dont understand what the hangup is. aside from individuals who are more comfortable with being willfully ignorant than they are with accepting another person's right to be themselves.

I don't believe individuals resort to becoming homosexual. Like a drug can chemically affect you, imbalance of hormones do the same. Inject testosterone into a female and she takes on male features with the exception of genitalia.
Hormone imbalances at birth happen, think hermaphrodite for example, and those imbalances will affect the individual. So IMO, homosexuality is just part of nature.
When it comes to marriage, I don't care if two people of the same sex want to be married. It doesn't hurt my marriage nor does it affect me personally. And what is marriage anyway? It's a LEGAL CONTRACT. Without a license, you can't prove marriage. You have to go to court to get divorced. The ritual of marriage of any religion in the US isn't considered a marriage unless there is a marriage license. That's why I don't get why people who are against same sex marriage are so angry.
As for offending the "sanctity" of marriage, I scoff because of the 50% divorce rate.

When you understand that the facts pretty much disprove archaic religious instructions there is no excuse for adhering to those archaic religious instructions.

The one I'm referring to is that archaic notion that God created them male/female.

Scientific observations have already destroyed this old notion as well as the archaic notions of sexuality. There is no longer an excuse for pretending to hold a logical basis excluding homosexuals from getting married.

It's utter BS held by either the ignorant or fools.

I always saw myself as a gay man in a woman's body married to a lesbian in a man's body.

Seriously though, I would be thrilled if my brother would get married or at least be able to prove that he was married to that college guy he met in London. He was....how do I put this....less tense when he was with Chris.

I personally see nothing wrong with either homosexuality or same sex marriage. In fact, I think it ought to be a right for homosexuals. Of course, it is a right for some homosexuals in the United States but not for very many. I long for the day when homosexuals actually have true freedom.

It should be right for homosexuals.

It should be right for intersex.

That the average human being thinks that they can define marriage for the whole of humanity based upon some BS religious grounds is nothing more than sheer BS egotism.

Nothing but.

Yes, I quite agree. I can't think of any reason why gay people shouldn't marry. If a particular religion forbids gay marriage, then gay people shouldn't be married in that religion's place of worship, by a clergyperson of that religion. But what that has to do with secular marriage, done by a secular officiant, representing a secular government, I have no idea.

If my cousin wants to get married then I'm more than fine with that. I really can't undesrstand the attitudes people hold about homosexuals being not only gross but a lifestyle choice.

I quite agree with yourhopeboundheart, people will probably look back at this and think wtf were we thinking? Just like when the days of interracial marriage weren't allowed or when the majority of people even believed in the concept of race. Still I don't think you can ever educate or wipe out the kind of attitudes that are willfully ignorant even in this day and age when so much has been proven to the contrary.

Working. Unfortunately for my rampant libido the only entity I'm having any sort of affair with is my career. :(

Hope you don't mind being present in some of my recent fantasies though. You're totally my type of woman. ;)
