Here's a question for you....

I am beginning to read a book by Joel Osteen, a popular preacher with good points about living your life to the fullest...

In one point in his book about living your best life, he talks about opportunities God presents you with and it's up to you to take them...these opportunies are given as steping stones to what you want...

Well, among my many prayers, I'm reading this and reflecting on my own life...God has answered my prayers in one area with opportunites and I've taken them, considering them as Joel sees them; stepping stones to my best life...

Here's my question...Do you think God would present these opportunites only to then close the door on your dreams that you're hoping these opportunies are leading to?

Why not? When a close family member dies is that a "stepping stone to your dreams"?

(P.S. I don't like Joel Osteen.)

If that brings you closer to God then indeed it is. IF you believe when a person close to you dies you will not morn their death. you will morn their separation form you for the moment. Still painful indeed but not debilitating for life.

My "dreams" are to find the God I seek without doubt or reservation at all. Think about how much one's life would change if Christ actually appeared without a doubt. All of a sudden one would concentrate on eternity and change our way of life in preparation for that which has now been proved without doubt. I envy those who have this. For death to them is birth unto the Lord and is a celebration in Heaven while we morn our separation here in our imprisoned bodies
