Oquirrh Mountain Temple (South Jordan, Utah)

The Oquirrh Mountain Temple has finally taken shape !!!

It's been a year and a half since the ground breaking ceremony in December of 2006. It will be complete in 2009.

This temple is just up the street (about 2 miles) from where I live and just outside our pizza delivery range (about 5 miles) from where I manage a pizza place in Herriman, Utah.

I pass this temple on my way to work and also see it when I occasionally take a pizza delivery or two, when the driver is away, and it's not busy.

It's on a hill next to a main highway, so there's no chance of not seeing it, if you're within a mile or two of it or further.

The outside is almost finished...

I delivered a pizza late one night, the other day, about 11:30 pm, to a house right behind the temple. The driver had gone home, and I was closed for the night, but someone called who had just moved here from Florida and they really didn't know their way around yet and they just had to have a taco pizza from us, and I wanted to get a closer look at the temple anyway, and there house was right behind the temple, so I took their order and delivered it. They had a magnificent view of the temple. The lights were on that night inside the temple. It was a great night to just drive around that area for a minute and take in the view.

That's got a nice look to it! I'm excited for you! I assume it will be your temple when it's done — am I right?

Oh wow! That is looking really good! My nearest temple is in London which is two hours or more away from me! In fact my friend who got his endowment the other day said it took them 4hours to get back!

I live on about 11400 S and 2400 W, in South Jordan, and the temple is on 11022 S and 4000 W, in South Jordan.

We can almost see the West Jordan temple from our back yard, which is just off of 10600 S and 1300 W.

Both temples could be seen if I was on top of my roof. :)

I've been to London twice, but never did go and see the temple. It wasn't part of our tour. :) :D

I couldn't even tell you where in London it is, and I have been there so many times. Never seen it!
The London temple looks similar to the Oquirrh Mountain temple. :)

i think it might have a dark steeple, like the London temple, when it's finished.

I went to the Oquirrh Mountain LDS temple open house today, just two miles up the road from where I live.

It's a LOVELY temple, beautiful colors inside.

Just a nice gold/tan/yellowish color throughout the temple. There's some gold colored/patterned wallpaper, beautiful gold/tan/yellowish marble throughout the temple. It's a COOl temple. it is motivating to go to church so I can go back to the temple. I know it would have that affect on me.

I'm going back to church just so I can go do temple work in that temple.

Here are some pictures of the outside on this link.
