It is even possible that G'd Himself only uttered the word זכור; however, intelligent people realised that this word implied both the meaning associated with the word זכור and the meaning associated with the word שמור.​

How is this to be understood? Is he suggesting that "intelligent people" revised the utterance?

He is addressing why the two words are listed separated by time and space and yet both are listed. It looks like he is giving possible wrong answers that intelligent people could come up with:

"Perhaps the Torah intentionally separated these words in order that we should not think that the latter expression refers to the time during which the זכור aspect of the Sabbath applies."

"It is even possible that G'd Himself only uttered the word זכור; however, intelligent people realised that this word implied both the meaning associated with the word זכור and the meaning associated with the word שמור."

It seems that he is just listing possiblities וזה כתבתי בדרך אפשר

Thank you, RR, the RJ interpretation is that Shabbat is symbolic of the 7th day after the Big Bang. It is not required to observe any ritual on that day, except reflection of that gargantuan event. Btw, out of curiosity, when do you think the electrostatic, weak and gravitational forces emerged ?
