Origin of life, Adam and the Dinosaurs

Could Adam have been alive with the dinosaurs according to scripture. Yes, absolutely. No fossils of humans are found with the dinosaurs because humans, Adam and Eve were immortal, they did not die like the animals.

In 7 days God created the Heaven and the Earth. With God a day is 1,000 years, a day is also a day our time. It is ambiguouos whether creation was 7 days our time or 7,000 years. But Man was created immortal, his days were not numbered. There is an indefinite time period between creation and the fall of man, which could have been millions of years. When Adam ate the fruit he became mortal, his days were numbered and time began. God said "In the day they ate of it they would surely die" A day with God is 1,000 years, so they would die within 1,000 years, which accounts for Adam's age of a few hundred years old, from the time of the fall of man until his death.

I think Adam lived longer than a few hundred years because according to Genesis 5:5 Adam lived 930 years.
I agree that in the day (thousand-year day) No one could live past age 1,000 such as Methuselah of Genesis 5:27

As to my knowledge there have never been found dinosaur bones mixed with human bones.
So, the dinosaurs lived before humankind was on Earth.
Mortals Adam and Eve were Never immortal, but 'mortals' who could live forever if they did Not break God's Law.
The immortal can Not die. The immortal are death proof. Adam and Eve were mortals who could die.
There was No post-mortem life for either Adam or Eve but just returning back to dust - Genesis 3:19
A person can Not ' return ' to a place he never was before. A&E ' returned ' to dust.
Adam went from non-life, to life, and 'returned ' back to non-life. ( non-existence )
I can't figure out how you arrived at the idea A&E did Not die like animals die.
Any comments about Ecclesiastes 3:19-20

There is nothing to me in Genesis telling us how long each of the creative ' days' were, or even if they were of the same or of differing lengths of time. ALL of the creative days are summed up by the word ' day' at Genesis 2:4.

Humans are animals.

Also we have numerous intermediary fossils between humans and out last common ancestor with chimpanzees.

In 7 days God created the Heaven and the Earth.

According to the Bible. Your god created the Earth in 6 days and rested on the seventh.

With God a day is 1,000 years,

Where does the scripture say that? It says there was evening and there was morning. That indicates one day.

a day is also a day our time. It is ambiguouos whether creation was 7 days our time or 7,000 years.

No, people have tried to make it ambiguous. But even if the universe was created in in 7,000 or 6,000 years it would not line up with physics.

But Man was created immortal, his days were not numbered. There is an indefinite time period between creation and the fall of man, which could have been millions of years.

Doesn't explain the numerous intermediary fossils.

When Adam ate the fruit he became mortal, his days were numbered and time began.

Time would have already began if years could have passed.

God said "In the day they ate of it they would surely die" A day with God is 1,000 years,

Again, the time dilation is never said in the Bible anywhere.

More importantly the Bible does not say day in that verse.

Genesis 3:3
but God did say, 'You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die.'"

so they would die within 1,000 years, which accounts for Adam's age of a few hundred years old, from the time of the fall of man until his death.

You really should have read the relevant bible verses before posting this.

2 Peter 3:8 But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day.

And when God said "In the day that you eat of it you will surely die" Adam died within that 1,000 year day Genesis 5:5 " Adam lived 930 years, and then he died."

I suppose you figure that trying to debunk your arguments makes me somehow egotistical? But you have done the same to me so how would that make you any different if that where the case?

In the bible god never said day in that sentence.

Also I doubt you have read the Greek so here: 2 Peter 3:8 Interlinear: And this one thing let not be unobserved by you, beloved, that one day with the Lord is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day;

Like does not mean equals.

Actually I was wrong on that one.

In the original Hebrew it does say בְּי֛וֹם

But if you take a look at how this term is used in the bible, it is consistently used literally: Hebrew Concordance: bə·yō·wm -- 197 Occurrences

Tell me what else God could have meant by "In the day that you eat of it you will surely die" Since Adam lived to be almost 1,000 years after eating it. In hindsight it's pretty obvious that a day is 1,000 years. But Adam not knowing the meaning and seeing that Eve didn't die right away felt safe to eat the fruit.

Adam did not die in a 1,000 years according to the Bible though.

In the Bible it has been shown that the god described there is capable of lying and changing his mind.

But I have a more pressing question.

Why would your god create the universe in such a way that makes us think that it was not created by him?

I really like your posts Kemosloby, but I just wanted to clarify a point with you......you said that Adam and Eve were "immortal" but I am sure you don't completely understand what "immortal" actually means.
Literally it means "deathless"..."unable to die or be put to death". If Adam and Eve were immortal, then the death penalty for eating the forbidden fruit would have been meaningless...it could not have been implemented. Nothing can destroy an immortal. The Bible calls it "the power of an indestructible life". (Greek: kata the power dynamis of an indestructible akatalytos life zōē. Hebrews 7:16)

At first, God alone possessed immortality, but he only rewarded his son with immortality after he had faithfully completed his mission on earth. (1 Timothy 6:13-16)

At the time of Adam's creation, there were many spirit sons of God who were observing all that was occurring. Angels can obviously live indefinitely because they are spirits who have no mortal cause of death. (IOW They do not rely on food, water or air to stay alive.) But Angels are not immortal either, because the Bible tells us that satan and his hordes will finally be destroyed in "the lake of fire"....a figurative place where things are destroyed forever. Even death and the grave (hades) are thrown into this "lake". (Revelation 20:14) It is called the "second death" because, unlike the first death, no one can be resurrected from that place.

In Genesis 3:22-24 it says....
"God then said: “Here the man has become like one of us in knowing good and bad. Now in order that he may not put his hand out and take fruit also from the tree of life and eat and live forever,—” 23 With that God expelled him from the garden of Eʹden to cultivate the ground from which he had been taken. 24 So he drove the man out, and he posted at the east of the garden of Eʹden the cherubs and the flaming blade of a sword that was turning continuously to guard the way to the tree of life."

The "tree of life" in the garden was obviously the means to keep mortal humans alive forever. But they still had to eat and drink and breathe to stay alive....things that God supplied abundantly in the garden.

Humans were given the prospect of "everlasting life" not "immortality". There is a difference. Even Jesus, as God's own son was not immortal, otherwise he could not have been put to death by mere humans.

There is no immortal soul taught in the Bible. We 'are' souls.....the Hebrew word is "nefesh" and it means 'a living, breathing creature'. This word never means something invisible or intangible. Souls can die. (Ezekiel 18:4)
Just because humans were created mortal, didn't mean they 'had' to die...it only meant that they 'could', if they broke the rules. Continued obedience to the Creator meant that they had continuing or everlasting life on earth, in the flesh. Adam and Eve disobeyed and so lost their ability to live forever.

Immortality was promised only to those who will rule with Christ in his heavenly kingdom, (Revelation 20:6) and it requires a specific kind of resurrection....the same one that Christ experienced.....in a spirit body. Immortal is the opposite of mortal. We will always be mortal because that is the way God created us. Our continued obedience will ensure that no death takes place. We will be able to live forever, just as it says in Revelation 21:2-4....

"And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 3 And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God. 4 He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.”

If you read my response you will see that I described "everlasting life" as opposed to "immortality". They are two different terms with two completely different meanings.

It's not splitting hairs, but getting to the nitty-gritty of the purpose of life. We were designed to live forever in mortal flesh.
Without access to the "tree of life", humans could not keep living. They degenerated, aged, succumbed to diseases, and died. That is not what God wanted for them, but if sinful humans could live forever, that would have been disastrous! God prevented that from happening. God sent Jesus on a rescue mission for Adam's children and we can look forward to going "home" to life on a cleansed earth with wickedness and all who practice it, gone. (2 Peter 3:13)

If only Adam and his wife had obeyed, their life and ours could have been so different. :( Living in paradise conditions on earth forever without death ever separating loved ones....with no sickness, disability, poverty or suffering, we humans could have enjoyed so much as a result of the Creator's generosity. This was meant to be our permanent home.

Ecclesiastes 3:11:
"He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has even put eternity in their heart; yet mankind will never find out the work that the true God has made from start to finish."

We alone have an expectation to go on living.....we fight death as something foreign....that is because God has programmed us not to die. 'Eternity is in our heart'. That's why death feels so wrong...it was never meant to happen.
no.gif
We were supposed to explore and find out wonderful things about our environment and the creatures that share our planet.....and have eternity to do it. Never being bored and never having the frustration of not being able to use our minds and bodies as God intended.

There is a lot to look forward to. (Isaiah 55:11) :)

I agree, the human spirit has an expectation of eternal life, like we were meant to have it. That's why we are so easily conned into Obamacare. Not knowing why we expect to live forever, we deceive ourselves, or are deceived, into thinking, if only we had the right health insurance program it will be ok.
