Osho / Bhagwan / Shree Rajneesh experiences?

Sirona

Namaste,

I know chances are not high but German TV showed a documentary about him which I found intriguing; so I would like to ask whether there are any members with opinions or experiences concerning Osho / Bhagwan / Shree Rajneesh?

Apart from this, I think that "anti-cult" documentaries by the state especially about Asian religions always portray the spiritual experience as a kind of threat which probably goes against the paradigm of "earn money and consume".

We drove through the neighbouring town (Antler?, I can't remember) in Oregon while Rajneeshpuram was up and running. That was in about 1982 or thereabouts. Lots of people in red robes wandering alongside the highway. I found it rather eerie, and had a definitive 'we're special' feeling about it. He most certainly redefined the traditional use of the word 'sannyasin'. My take is that it was a great example of neo-advaita in the extreme, and hence gone way too adharmic and crazy.

Osho was a jain and heretic in his religion. Indian culture does not permit the sex practices which Osho initiated. Entry to his ashram required an negative HIV certification. His 96 or 99 Rolls Royce cars indicated what he was. He was a cult leader. Hardly any one talks about Osho today in India. He had a nice time (I suppose) and died.
There is nothing wrong in Hinduism with earning money. However, it would like a person to spend on charity also and not just on consumption. Mahatma Gandhi considered the rich to be custodians of the poor.

Outa here... bye-bye!
What exactly would you like to be defined?

You post about "Osho / Bhagwan / Shree Rajneesh" in the Religions Q&A, with NO defined audience.
This is NOT a DIR but for the general audience. Well, what do you THINK you should define?

Well, what do you think about Shatnez / Chavrusa / Litvish ?

I can throw weird terms around too!
