Oh my, you appear to be a no-hoper.
Nah I just would rather pay $45 for the real item vs paying $5 for a cheap Chinese knock off that looks the same, but lacks the quality.

Let's see, what brands of furniture do you buy? Dog food? Toothpaste? Shoes? Clothing? I am getting you buy far more Chinese goods than you realize. Not an error.
Just don't buy cheap Chinese junk and you don't have to worry about it.
I sincerely doubt that you put your money where your mouth is.Nah I just would rather pay $45 for the real item vs paying $5 for a cheap Chinese knock off that looks the same, but lacks the quality.

don't forget cell phones and computers, cost 25% more now.
How much do you pay for your sneakers?Yeah on most things I do. When I shop for shoes I try to stick to New Balance, they are one of the few companies that still manufacture in the U.S.
I try to stay away from Chinese goods as much as possible. Due to the amount of pollution, child labor, and civil rights violations if you really cared about any of these issues you would use less Chinese products as well. Granted you are correct to some degree, China does produce so much stuff it's hard to not buy Chinese.
But it can be done. China will be forced to renegotiate, and respect patents and stop stealing our intellectual property to reproduce for profit. Maybe we can get them to stop killing the earth with the vast amount of pollution they mindlessly dump into the oceans and air, while we are at it.
China has been playing the system for far too long and the bubble is bound to pop at some point in the near future anyways. The best thing they can do is get on board with the rest of the world and play on a more equal field.
Wait til the end of summer and use the back to school tax free period to buy those things, you can save money there.

Those are not made in the U.S.. Only a small amount of their product is made here. They start at about $175.00:Depends, one shop I go to usually has a bogo half off sale. So I'll buy one set of New Balance for $50-$70 usually, and go ahead and pick up a second pair for half off. So $100 (worse case scenario) for 2 pairs of high quality shoes that last between a year to 2 years per pair, not bad.
It can be done with a bit of patience and just being smart about it.

That only is a discount from the store that covers sales tax. It won't touch the tariffs.

It counteracts the tariffs though. Tariff increase is from 10% to 25%, that's a 15% increase. Sales tax is comparable in most places so if you wait for the back to school it can more or less counter the tariff increase on high dollar items like computers, tablets, not sure If cell phone counts but meh. You get the point.
I can see that you do not understand retail either. There is almost always a "sale" going on. The reason for the discount is changed, but not the actual price you pay.

the sneakers you buy are probably from China or some other third world country.Huh?
I never said anything about a sale on computers etc.
Sales have nothing to do with the back to school tax break.
I think you might have got your wires crossed. The "sale" I was speaking of was about sneakers not computers.

The few New Balance made in the U.S. must be directly ordered.
