Satellite/cable TV.

Seriously, I hate that noisy, boring, garbage-ridden piece of crap.
Cut it out, I never looked back. You have access to Netflix and Hulu? It is well worth the investment to pick up a Roku, Firestick, etc and pair it with a subscription service. Heck, even if you bundled 2-3 together it would be cheaper than most TV packages in the US.

most stand up comedians
and so, so, so much more....

I've been trying to convince my parents to make the switch, because it is so way cheaper, but for some reason they haven't. Our internet isn't fast enough to run Kodi to get the most out of things like the Firestick (and tons of it legal before anyone barks), but Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon all stream just fine.

That's too bad. I also read somewhere that YouTube will be releasing a service soon that includes sports channels and local news. If your folks are local news watchers, that can warrant sticking it out. It is tough to get it otherwise.

What if I am driving slow in the passing lane listening to commercials that include country music? (Stop reaching for that firearm, I see you!)

My brother had Netflix for a while, I think. I was never interested enough to check it out. :p

Are you a TV guy? Some folks aren't. In which case you could cut it all together and pocket the money for better things! Like funding my new found photography hobby!

I'm not, which is precisely why I don't have a TV at home. Haven't had one since April 2014. :D
