That's what I've believe for quite some time now. Being almighty. things must get pretty boring.Of course, if you have evidence of some other reason please share.
God's Amusement.
But I did get the glasses right. This picture is inaccurate. The ants will be able to see the human (god), the grass (universe), and could travel to the gravel in the background.
Scale is terrible..
Yup.Gnostic Seeker said:You mean earth is like... a reality tv show?
Something like that.George-ananda said:From a non-dualist (God and creation are not-two) perspective the cartoon does not make sense. God is in the ants.
What do you think non-dual thought is saying?
Seriously, what is it you wanted to debate? My OP is asking about our purpose on earth, strongly premised on the assumption that we were deliberately put here. If you see some other reason other than the one I put forward: god's amusement, then please shareWhat do you think non-dual thought is saying?
I'm not asking if you agree or believe in it; but do you understand what it is saying.
(Seriously, Why do you post this stuff in the 'General Religious Debates' forum when you don't really want to debate?)
Interesting. But are you saying that we consciously make this determination: "My purpose on earth is . . . . ." even though we probably don't even think of such matters until we get past our childhood? Our "purpose" is what we make it out to be, so I don't think there's likely any intrinsic "purpose" outside of our own mind's opinion.
To varying degrees since we're not all "built" the same. Some spend a great deal of time trying to deal with the meaning and purpose of life whereas some others don't. Some people don't much get into theology or philosophy whereas some others do.Interesting. But are you saying that we consciously make this determination: "My purpose on earth is . . . . ." even though we probably don't even think of such matters until we get past our childhood?
