What is hurtful to yourself do not to your fellow man. That is the whole of the Torah and the remainder is but commentary.

These, I agree with more than the others, as it explicitly prohibits causing harm, rather than treating other's as you wish to be treated.
Some people like fighting. Just because they want other's to pick fights with them, doesn't mean they should go picking fights. That is just a small example, but it helps grasping the differences.

It is unfortunate that the silver rule has more merit than the golden rule yet has been named after the lesser metal.

Allthough, some of us do value silver over gold. It is called the moon's metal after all.
