The Republicans had an opportunity to have some input, but they all decided just to vote against the impeachment process instead.

Yes. Why would they vote for the articles when the House can grant that input via a simple Resolution such as the one passed which didn't include said input. The House can do this, put forward a Resolution, at anytime they want.

Besides that, they're the ones who made up the rules they are currently using in the first place. They have nobody to blame but themselves.

Dems complained about those rules thus are hypocrites. GOP are hypocrites too.

Trump abandoned the Kurds to die in Syria after they helped the US fight ISIS, because he didn't need them anymore. He's no saint.

The US mission in Syria was about ISIS not the Kurds. The Kurds are a rebel faction in the Syrian Civil War. The US is not obligated to carve out a Kurdish nation-state just because there was a common enemy
