Well, I have not decided if I am going to take a leave from the forums or simply stick to this DIR. Probably the latter, but I just wanted to give a heads up if I disappear. I am sick of all this pointless conceptual bickering with complete morons that never accomplishes anything. These damn fideists, the closed minded religious bigots, the plain idiots. I'm sick of our entire species with our mindless BS and absolutely meaningless discussions over completely fictionalized nonsense. Life is too short to waste showing people any truths or logic when they are just going to turn their back on them. LaVey said not to waste our love on ingrates, but I refuse to even waste another thought on these useless parasites. This does not happen here in our DIR though, where I feel I have found some of the few intelligent yet spiritual human beings left in this world. So, in all likelihood I will still be around. Just wanted to rant though, figured you guys will understand haha.

I don't think it really should be anyone's ... ummm...
'mission', to convince (or even 'show') other people (their own) truths.
Beyond that, I don't think it's really even possible.

Individuals will always see their own truths,
or the 'truths' they choose to see anyway.

I'm not sure what's got you so upset on the forum exactly,
but if it's to do with others not understanding or being open to your ideas...
or your mind set,
they are probably just as frustrated with you.
(for not seeing the light/truth of their own mindset)

I don't know if this helps,
but my posts are generally composed for my own sake.
I come to understand my own thought processes better,
I look at things from new angles,
consider, and reconsider....
and if what I have to say happens to also resonate with anyone else
that's icing on the cake.
I don't expect it though.
If I did, I'm sure I would have left here long ago.
(as an epic fail)

Anyway, I'm here to change and improve mySelf.
Not to change and improve others.

It's the best default position I think.
Then there are the small handful with which we resonate.
That's always a really nice thing.
The connection and the understanding,
and the conversation that comes out from that.

Thanks UV. I'm just having a rough night and stuff is getting to me. I too am here for myself, and I think this will be void in the morning. I just had to get it out of my system and I feel quite comfortable in this DIR. I deal with intense internal and external issues in my own reality here. I try to keep strong and mature, but sometimes my chronological immaturity, depression, and addiction come in. personally I think it only helps master myself more.

I rarely venture outside the DIR either. I like commenting on some stuff and chatting with people, but I really don't see any reason to debate that much. Why not just pick the cherries when no one tells you not to?

I think you have absorbed my point completely. The beast doesn't care and does what is natural, and the god/dess is beyond the human so they aren't concerned with trifling arguments of little consequence. You can tell anyone of the truth as you know it, and they will only absorb what they agree with normally. This doesn't mean it's right or wrong, but just what they are willing to tolerate. The only way you can change anyone's mind is to make them become ashamed of being associated with or tolerating the other idea thus making them doubt something based on very vane notions. This has nothing to do with the validity of the concept -- which they can argue until they run out of oxygen.

Right hand path minds basically cannot conceive of parts of their dogma being challenged and therein lies their persistence. It isn't that it makes more sense to them -- it's more that the glass house tumbles down when you throw a rock at one wall. If one proverbial wall falls so easily perhaps the rest can as well. They are merely repeating the baloney to themselves like a mantra so that they feel safe. Fear really is the motivation for everything they do -- fear of upsetting God or Jesus, fear of sins, breaching doctrine, challenging the status quo (seeming abnormal to peers), rejection, guilt (doing things the group they are in deem 'bad'), and fear that if they don't save you that some way reflects upon them.

I am basically here to share ideas with other Magicians and LHPathers. I am not here to convert or to convince anybody of anything one way or the other. My quest is to seek after the Truth of my own Being, my highest goal is to Become that Truth. It is not my concern whether or not others "get" me, my journey is about knowing and Understanding my Self. My task is to work towards the mastery of my own Life.
