Personal Revelation

There are some in paganism who speak of UPG...Unverified Personal Gnosis...probably what you would call a personal revelation...something that the individual experiences and understands, but has no external verification or validity, UNTIL there is some external evidence to support it. Then it may become Verified Personal Gnosis...
Yup. UPG is one term I use. Otherwise "experience" suits me just fine.

We'd commit war over other things. Destruction is necessary for creation to flourish.
Maybe but if we all knew that we don’t have much time here on earth maybe we wouldn’t be fighting. Destruction of human life isn’t necessary for the creation of life. Dying naturally is necessary though.

I disagree. Destruction is not good or bad, human or not. Destruction of life in general has to happen in some form, for life to flourish.

The average person runs and avoids the topic of their own mortality, because they do in fact know life is short and unpredictable.

Don’t you just love having a revelation? Being awakened to hidden truths? It is one of the most exciting events in one’s life imo. Feel free to share your experience or debate why you think personal revelations are imaginary shams.
It has been personally revealed to me that personal revelations are bull****.

It was on fire when I laid down on it.
TRUE STORY TIME! Several things stick out to me over the years. The first time I believe I heard God's voice was when I was a young mom and I was grappling with the idea that I had committed THE UNPARDONABLE SIN. Which of course I hadn't. But anyway, I was so sure I had. So one morning I got up and went into my daughter's bedroom to change her and feed her and I was so overcome by love for her, which is how God feels toward me. And clear as a bell, I heard God say "I know your heart." I never worried about THE UNPARDONABLE SIN ever again.

Another time I believe I was surrounded not by God but by my guardian angel. I had a faulty heater and didn't know it, and therefore I and my whole family had carbon monoxide poisoning. I should have known something was up because I was sitting in the middle of the living room floor folding laundry and it looked SO COMFORTABLE! I mean, when does laundry look like that? But I laid down in it and suddenly a terrible, awful (in the best way but still, scared the mess out of me) voice said, "WAKE UP, WAKE UP." I struggled to wake up and as soon as I did I grabbed my head because it hurt SO BAD. There's a lot more to that story but I'll just wrap it up to say that they didn't know what to do with us because according to my doctors, no one ever woke up once they went to sleep. But I did. The doctors ended up keeping us for five days and putting us in various hyperbaric chambers.

One other time, my husband had just passed away, and I was home my first night from the hospital where I had had a complete elbow replacement with a new radial head and a big hinge, and thirteen screws and all that good stuff. Oh, it was my right (dominant) elbow. I had the most vivid dream that my husband kept coming to my bedroom door and saying " You got this!" or giving me a thumb's up or both or whatever. I mean, they were every type of man imaginable, but I knew they were all my husband because of his smile on their faces. So then, there was no voice this time but I felt these huge, beautiful wings encompass me. I actually woke up granddaughter up (she was sleeping beside me) because I wanted to know if she had hugged me, it was so real (she hadn't). To this day, I believe it was my guardian angel.

If people new some spiritual truths wars might not be waged imo

Not so sure about that, throughout history I would imagine there have been various religious groups who have had 'revelations' but still waged war.

However, if a spiritual revelation helps someone with their life, then that's great.

The only spiritual revelation I ever had was after a few mushies, I don't think that counts.
