Peter Jackson to do the Hobbit!!!!!!

I just can't get into the movies, my mother read all the books to me when I was a child and I reread them when I was older but the movies seem to "Harry Potterish" to me. I guess for me somethings are better imagined than seen.

That's interesting.

I always found the movies very un-Potter. For example, LOTR trilogy plays like a grand epic, whereas Potter movies play like serials - a number of separate chapters forming one story.

It is possible I need to sit down and force myself to watch the movie all the way through for some reason I lose interest very quickly. I realize that the movies are very well done but they just seem to drag on for me.

Ah. I can understand that. If I try to watch any on DVD I find myself skipping to the "interesting" parts.

Looks like we'll be waiting for a long time. Peter Jackson wasn't the only one New Line shafted. Apparently the screwed Tolkein out of profits too and now he, like Jackson, is suing them. Good for him I say. Serves those greedy morons right.
