Well, the assumption I assume you're mentioning is that the world exists and our observations are more or less accurate (if you're talking about another please let me know). So yeah, I suppose you can't prove either of those two things. But since we live in this system, those couple of assumptions seem to work fairly well. I suppose there's no really absolute way to prove anything, but science seems to work. Anyhoo, one of the things about science is that observations have to be repeatable, and since there's only one set of observations to be going by if you've got a Bible, it's a bit different.
