Picking Up Snakes

I did say “ medium” size!
like 2+ metres!

That thing would eat me!

I mean, in all fairness I wouldn’t recommend them as pets to 99% of people. Unless you can keep them in zoo like conditions and maintain their diet it’s not responsible. Snakes do require stimulation in their environment.
You can get dwarf versions whereby they are selectively bred in a way to keep them smaller than wild giants and under 8 foot but I mean… it’s not always possible to determine how big a snake will get

Nah. A cute little corn snake wouldn't do that. I think corn snakes are little cuties. Probably going to get another one as a pet. I'd be afraid one of my cats or dogs might hurt and eat it, although.

I've eaten snake, quite nice snack but i wouldn't serve it for a meal

I think it should not be taken as a test of faith, because:

And he said to Him, If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down; for it has been written: "He shall give His angels charge concerning You, and they shall bear You on their hands, lest You strike Your foot against a stone." (LXX-Psa. 90:11, 12; MT-Psa. 91:11, 12) Jesus said to him, Again it has been written: "You shall not tempt the Lord your God." (Deut. 6:16)
Matt. 4:6-7

I believe God will protect, but we should not intentionally try to harm us.
Well, then, what do you do with the gospel quotes I mentioned? Ignore them? If you do ignore them, then why bother with the rest of the gospel stories?

I'm not a Christian myself, but in all fairness, there are a number of ways Christians deal with this.

1. The ending to Mark was edited into the text at a much later date. Most Christian Bibles include it, but have footnotes indicating this. Since its authenticity is questionable, so is its authority.

2. The "snakes" are considered by some to be metaphors for Satan, and how Christians are triumphant over him.

3. There are those who believe that miracles were a necessary thing during the time of the apostles in order to confirm their message, but are not needed or meant for later times.

4. And there are those who view this verse as hyperbole meant to emphasize the power and authority of the early church, and not meant to be taken literally.

Perhaps you should edit your video to acknowledge these ideas, instead of setting up a strawman to knock down.
I understand that some people argue the part about snakes may have been edited in at a later date. But the fact of the matter is, the passage made it into the New Testament canon. And for that matter, the gospels are known to be collections of folk stories orally transmitted until people who realized the end times weren't as imminent as Jesus said they were decided to write down the stories as they preferred to remember them generations after the death of Jesus. So the gospels are all weirdly edited accounts. So I respectfully disagree with you on this one.:)

When I lived in North Carolina, during graduate school, I once rounded up some friends to drive out to the western part of the state, where some Christian preacher was making a show out of picking up copperheads. But the day before we were going to drive out there, a copperhead bit the preacher, and he died. A sheriff who tried to intervene in the show got bitten on the arm, which swelled enormously, but he survived--then quit as sheriff.
