Pie or cake?

I'm putting cheesecake in the honorary pie category, because it doesn't do to me what cake does in this totally scientific graph.

Of course cheesecake is really pie. It has a crust, doesn't it? Would YOU eat a cake if it had a crust?!?!?!? Crusty cake? Well, wouldya?

Here in Oz cake is usually sweet fluffy carby stuff as described above, but our pies are generally full of yummy meat not sweet stuff.
Protein is better than carbs so pies win over cakes.

Another point in favour of pies:

- meat-filled cake: blech.
- meat-filled pie: yum.

In most cases pie is vastly superior to cake. However, there are rare exceptions. For instance, angel food cake with strawberries and whipped cream is better than rhubarb pie, and any cake at all is better than kidney pie.
