PlayStation 2 or Nintendo 64?

Everything about the Gamecube was just a big "why?" I enjoyed and still enjoy the Gameboy Advance way more than the Gamecube.

I had FF Tactics on the GBA, loved it.
I also had a PSP, but grew bored with it and sold it. I hated that it only had one analog stick.

The Gamecube was strange. In fact, I can't think of a single title on that system. Of course it continued Super Smash Bros but that is about it.
There was a Fire Emblem title, Metroid Prime 1 and 2, the Zelda collection disk along with Master Quest and Wind Waker, and truly not much more. Starting with the N64 Nintendo starting just making consoles that were sorely lagging in power and modern/current technology, and it continued with the Gamecube, and as game developers avoided the Gamecube due to its limitations Nintendo kept its streak of consoles with lesser power and hardware with the Wii, which also has only a few good games. With the N64 Nintendo at least still had decent hardware and good enough list of exclusive titles to at least make it worth having one. The same really can't be said about the Gamecube, which the Wii made complete and almost entirely obsolete (it would nothing more than a paperweight without the Gameboy attachment). It's amazing though. Nintendo hasn't really had anything good since the N64, but Sega was mega downsized even though their consoles and games were way better than Nintendo.

My PSP is used mostly for NES, Genesis, and GBA advance games. And the PSP games I like, I typically play them on an emulator to run them faster and play them on a bigger screen. But if you have a few minutes to spare, it's fun being able to get out the PSP for a few rounds of Mike Tyson's Punch-Out and use save state to pick up where I leave at.

The Sonic series was the only saving grace for the Sega. In regards to Nintendo, I like the direction they went with the Switch. I haven't gotten one yet but it is certainly on the radar soon.

I gave my Xbox to my brother to mod years ago. He never finished that project. I believe it's still sitting dissembled up on a closet shelf.

PS2/1 using hindsight 20/20. There were a lot more rpgs and sports games I like on PS2/1 than N64. However a nod out to Zelda

Yes N64 came out at the same time as PS1 but N64 had better games than PS1. The only games PlayStation 1 had that Nintendo didn't was Final Fantasy VII,VIII,IX (I STILL haven't completed them) and Metal Gear Solid. I think N64 had a pretty good WWF game too; much better than the 2K or SvR games of today. Don't know which one it was
Don't forget all the Spyro and Crash Bandicoot games for PS1, and MegaMan Legends.

Oh, and two words: CHRONO. CROSS.

Animal Crossing, Metroid Prime, Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, LoZ: Four Swords Adventures, LoZ: Twilight Princess and Super Mario Sunshine come to mind.

People, what are the decent PS1/2 games as I want to play the older games. I've already got MGS 1-4, FF 7-9, Tekken 3 and 5, GTA 3;Vice City and San Andreas (the only one I've completed).

I've also wanted to get Super Smash Brothers 64, Rogue Squadron and Perfect Dark. Pokemon Stadium sucks without Gameboy Pokemon but I just don't have the time to restart playing that. RPG are long winded

Any more?

Console games are better. Plus consoles are cheaper
Ok then, lets get started. *cracks knuckles* Do you play games online? Because If you do, then a PC will cost less over time. Free multiplayer, and all that. There's the higher frame rate, better graphics, and generally cheaper games. Plus, the keyboard and mouse is the superior control scheme for most games, barring certain indie titles. And the PC community is generally less toxic than consoles. It's been 6 months since I heard a whiny 10 year old in Battlefield or Call of Duty on PC, and I just heard 3 of them last night on Xbox Live. Checkmate, peasant.
Edit: also, mods. Try playing 1000's of hours of Skyrim without mods. It's tough.

Start with the lists posted by Shadow Wolf and see if anything seems interesting. The RPGs are really not that long as an adult

You have to keep upgrading PC; especially graphics card. And I disagree on keyboard and mouse; I prefer controller. Games take up RAM and you need a decent processor. It's a chore buying PC games because you never know if the PC is compatible.

Also, if you're like me then you'll already be using RAM by keeping hundreds of browser tabs open and hibernating instead of shutting down. So I'd have to buy a dedicated PC just for gaming

There are a ton of games the PS1 has that the N64 doesn't. Legend of Dragoon, Star Ocean: The Second Story, Chrono Cross and Chrono Trigger, All the Final Fantasy games through 9 and Final Fantasy Tactics, Spyro, Arc the Lad, Mega Man Legends 2, Mega Man 8 and x3 through x6, Castlevania Chronicles and Symphony of the Night, Xenogears, Diablo, Lunar Silver Star Story, Parasite Eve, Vandal Hearts, Valkeryie Profile, Vagrant Story, and a good many more.

What are the many more? :D
