in many ancient cultures, poetry was considered the pinnacle of literature.

poets are even mentioned in the bible along with the psalms themselves being included. we see rumi and hafez and many others in various cultures.

but of all the books, the song of solomon is my favorite from judaism.

is that because we can feel the connection of something we loved, experienced, and can find in common with others as self?

Poetry can reach to the emotions and the heart.

If I read something like "I would sweep the ground where my beloved walks with my eyelashes", the depth of that love is revealed in a way that merely saying "I'm in love" does not.

I love that everything is 'we' even upon escape. The escape reminds me so much if the escape in The OA. When she runs and reaches that casm. That after she is hit she wakes with sight. True sight. As in the story she learns from the King and gains true freedom. The sparkling expanse she/he/they find the king in reminds me of Katun. Also... Toward the end... even the questions we have as actual viewers that 'we get the metaphors for trauma and healing' etc but did these things actually happen? How could they? She must be crazy as well. As they wonder in this poem. And in the end, the recommendation that one consume a concoction and take baths... Purple drink Nox Vidmate VLC and milky Luke warm baths anyone!? The way OA was numbed.
