I disliked the quiz for the Nolan chart more then the Political compass one. Many of the answers were inadequate to represent my position. Though the political compass test seems to produce easily extreme results. In the Nolan test I'm a moderate leaning toward solidly toward the Left and a little bit more toward Authoritarian. In the Political Compass test I'm in the far left solidly libertarian quadrant. In my country, I would be considered stongly on the Left, but rather centrist when it comes to personnal liberty vs social protection.

I didn't care for the Nolan myself because it labels me a Liberal, and though I'm far Left, Liberals and I tend to disagree about many things.

Can you name an example that wasn't covered by the Nolan test (or that was covered inappropriately)? Questions on free trade and immigration were particularly missed for as well as the question on military intervention. The question on minority rights was vague and the choices almost all bad. Strangely, I don't remember seeing any question on education or criminal justice, policing and sentencing. All of these area are hot button in politics and area of strong differenciation.

It's been awhile and I don't remember. But there is no distinction between various left and right ideologies outside of liberal and conservative, which just doesn't work.

Good day to you and welcome to RF.

The staff canteen will be open for breakfast prepared by our beloved @Revoltingest who will no doubt offer you tempting morsels of bacon and haggis to tickle your taste buds. In the meantime enjoy a petite gateaux or few to tide you over.

I'm getting old and cranky, it seems. Only -6.41 on the liberty scale. That should be a -8. I'll have to work on that.
