Yep. All missing from the poll. I guess someone didn't want to hear the truth.
It probably depends on what angle amd position you're coming from. I'm a bit of a gearhead, so my criticisms are strongly coming from his handling of Tesla and the problems and dangers that have come about with him at the helm. It's basically his fault people can (I've heard this has recently changed) not pay any attention to the road using the auto-pilot while driving a Tesla, while other cars with that feature monitor where the driver is looking and will disengage auto-pilot if the driver isn't looking at the road.

I don't look at the details but his general behaviour. No matter which company, he sets unrealistic goals and lies about how far they are achieved. His presentations are basically snake oil pitches - and people still haven't stopped to give him money just on promises.

Yeah. His attitudes regarding work that made headlines with Twitter are the same sentiments he emailed to his Tesla employees a few years ago (and he sent this email in the middle of hte night), which was acknowledging they work hard and then demanding they must work harder because of all this blah and words and other stuff overworked employees aren't going to give a damn about when they are told they must work even harder and longer. He seems to think, going by these demands, that people are robots who are supposed to be more dedicated to his projects than he is.

Twilight Hue

Twilight, not bright nor dark, good nor bad.
Probably little needs to be said over his takeover of twitter but the results are no doubt still not clear.

Elon Musk: Twitter users vote in favour of boss resigning

Twitter users have voted in favour of Elon Musk stepping down as the platform's chief executive after the billionaire ran a poll on his future. A total of 57.5% voted "yes" after Mr Musk asked his 122 million followers whether he should stand down.
Musk is good since only 10% make up about 80% of the tweets. Probably because others were being censored for views not in line with the 10%.

It's my thought on it anyways.

Didn't he say he would abide by the result? Until he changed his mind later and now it seems will only allow the blue ticks to vote. :D

Perhaps the poll should have "Partially failed visionary". One has to appreciate what he did for the electric car business. I remember being blown away by what his very early Tesla Roadster did on Top Gear when I first saw it. Here was a relatively affordable, first generation (which means that it is just going to be loaded with bugs) blowing away the ICE car that its chassis was based upon. He showed that electric cars can be fast and fun, not just green. Nissan's leaf was the only other major contender at the time and it was and still is a snooze fest.
So yes, conman. Vaporware salesman. An ego that challenges Donald Trump's. Over promises and under delivers far too often. But he still has made some significant contributions.

He just seems to stand out amongst the other multi-billionaires as being such an oddball and loose cannon - and as to why many don't trust him to do the best for humanity (which is what he seems to claim) rather than the best for himself.

Yep. And Space-X is also (somewhat) working. He really is a hit and two misses. (Hyperloop, tunnels, Tesla semi, Twitter, ...)

You had to love Hyperloop, an idea that he thought up all by himself for the first time ever.

As to Tesla Semi, he kept trying to blow smoke up the behinds of people in the trucking industry. Some companies made small purchase, such as Anheisser-Busch. But they could have bought massive numbers if they were serious. It allowed them to get say "look how we are helping" without doing anything when it came to AGW. but the real truckers were not impressed. His sales presentation focused on its ability to go from 0 to 60 in a very short period of time for a truck. But he said almost noting about how far it could go. Semi's can go upwards of 1,400 miles , though most refill at about the 1,100 just to be safe. A Tesla can go about half of that at best. Then when one considers load again the advantage goes to standard semis by quite a bit So a rapid 0-60 time is pretty much a "so what" when the more important numbers are so much worse for one of his trucks. They are definitely not ready for long distance trucking yet.

A genius, the best... that's a mighty high view of him, or for being applied to any one. The world will not be saved by him. Maybe the antichrist will convince people he himself will save it. The best comment was "Born into wealth and affluence and rode upon the coattails of others. His ego exceeds his intelligence."

There’s no Jesus, god or Antichrist. We have a better shot with Musk.
