Being Hindu, I'm gonna go with Hinduism. Although I'm in agreement with Daoism, for the most part :)

Am I allowed to choose from a wide selection of communities and religious teachers?

If so, then it is a toss-up between Hinduism and Taoism.

If I lack such a choice, then Shinto. I so wish I had a better grasp of Shinto.

Yeah, but what about Mondays? Which religion are you going with on Mondays?

Man, such narrow choices here. No Raelianism.

It'll have to be Wicca on Mondays, because Wicca starts with W, and that's M upside down, and Monday starts with M.

You can choose to keep learning with an open mind until you discover, rather than choose, which is yours.

I wouldn't be able to choose between them.

Not Shinto, because I don't believe it can be practiced outside of Japan, especially by a foreigner who has never lived in that country and with those kami to have developed a relationship with them.

Not Wicca, because I see one of its essential qualities as dividing everything into anthropocentric, sex-based polarities. As an ecocentrist and someone who rejects the construct of gender entirely, that doesn't jive with me.

Not Hinduism, because although it is is a sister religion to Neopaganisms, the mythological iconography is too difficult for me to relate to, albeit beautiful. Possibly that could be overcome in time, but it would be a long and difficult road.

That leaves Taoism, which is easily the most transposable across cultures and historical eras. The general character of Taoism is already present in my own religion. It would be the easy and simple path.

Hmm Taoism since im already considering it. But shinto.and wicca would be ok too, though I would prefer different pagan tradition then wicca.
No interest in Hinduism.

I liked quints post and echo the plants thoughts on wicca

Yes quint is a sentient plant.

They're all pretty interesting and effective religions. I'd probably choose Wicca because the Wiccans I've known are pretty chill, open, flexible people, with a lot of tolerance for varying views, and great attitudes about environment, sex, and various other issues.

Hinduism would probably be a close second. I like Taoism a lot, but it's really more of a philosophy than a religion, I think. And Shinto is so tied to Japan, I feel like it would be hard to practice elsewhere.

I chose Hinduism, especially because of their "many paths to God" approach. Also, I have long considered Gandhi to be my #1 mentor.

I picked Wicca (since that's the closest religion within paganism listed); but I'd rather say ethnic witchcraft (Craft practitioners who use "spells" by cultural integration and community focused) I don't care for Wicca because of the heavy emphasis on "intent" when doing spells, the personification of nature, the emphasis on mythology especially in eclecticism, and a lot of symbolism and correspondences.

I don't know anything about the other three. I looked them up and can understand the tao. It reminds me of the Nichiren Buddhist/Lotus Sutra concept of the Mystic Law.

Shinto, I have no clue what that is about. Internet has a lot of personal explanations rather than in general.

What core beliefs in Shinto and Taoism make those religions unique to each other and faiths outside the two?

I don't know about Hinduism. Unless someone can explain these religions without using the words consciousness, being, universe, and cosmos, and instead use concrete words, then I can figure out my views on it.

Out of these 4 religions which one would you choose, this is just for fun!
