Porn Pastor

She's going against everything her religion teaches

You are correct. Only if you assume that mainstream Christianity religion is correct. I do not.

In any event, I think this so-called pastor needs to be cancelled. That would be good.

I disagree here. She believes she is following the teachings of Jesus.
I believe the teachings of Jesus and the teachings of Christianity (in general), are worlds apart. That’s my worldview.
“Cancelling” her is no different than burning those at the stake who “went against their religion.”

As far as I can see, a lot of the issues you listed could more effectively be tackled through sex education, better access to condoms and contraceptives, and removal of the stigma on reproductive rights (e.g., abortion).
A lot of folks say this but we have had decent sex ed and access to contraceptives in this country for a long, long time now and it's only become worse. There was a card scheme were people 13+ could get free condoms if they had this card (as long as they were sleeping with other people in their age group) and so have safe sex. Teenagers can also go on the pill etc. We are open about sex talk in this country, we are liberal towards this stuff, but the UK still has the highest teen pregnancy rate in Europe.

It just doesn't work without some kind of actual standards applied to it, as well.

I don't wear that hat in public to save myself from being harassed or even assaulted by leftists in this city, especially around the OSU campus here. So I don't wear it out of fear. Plus, I have no car to retreat to.

I'm sorry you've experienced enough fear for your physical safety to have to avoid wearing the hat. I don't think physical assault is acceptable for this at all.

This actually seems to me to underline the problem with the kind of logic you endorsed earlier: if people start trying to dictate to others what to wear based on purely subjective criteria, they may feel justified in harassing those who don't abide by their subjective preferences. So whether you decide to wear a MAGA hat or "trashy," skintight clothing without underwear, it's your prerogative, and nobody should encroach on your rights or safety over it.

America is the opposite of that and has a teenage pregnancy rate higher than the UK.

I can't comment on this without being more familiar with how the U.K. applies its solutions to these problems or how families approach sexual subjects with their children. That said, abstinence and "chastity" are widely encouraged in multiple societies, and the issues many of those societies (e.g., Saudi Arabia, Yemen, and Iran, as I said earlier) have lead me to believe that puritanical attitudes toward sexuality are simply unproductive.

Jesus apparently told people this,

She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.
Yeah, it's a disservice to Christianity because that is what Jesus taught. Rather the OP story gives lots of fuel to point out how Christians themselves continually move further and further away from Christianity.

This is a very Protestant worldview. You won't find this in the RCC or OC.
Yuck

I visualized myself more in line with RCC than protestantism

Not that I believe much in either

I guess it’s because I see the new Pope as being somewhat liberal

Baptists, on the other hand……..

I’m glad you quoted that

He said, “go and sin no more”

But we are all sinners until we recognize sin in ourselves
Only then, can we attempt to sin no more, and only to the extent that we see it
That’s why we will ALL be sinners to some extent until we die

Every time you confess to a priest, he probably says something like “go and sin no more”. But does that mean all sin is instantly gone?

All pastors sin.

If you think she is sinful, remember you are too, and so are all pastors and priests.

Our individual sin is between each of us and God.

If she has sin, it’s between her and God.

Of course Jesus wasn't saying that she can't sin ever again, she's only human.

But the idea is to work on oneself, not bask in one's sin as this so-called pastor is doing. There's clearly no repentance and guilt here.

It means you're not supposed to keep deliberately sinning and doing things the Bible prohibits. No one is perfect, of course, but it goes against the NT from Gospels to Paul to keep doing whatever.
People want to call themselves Christians but many just are not willing to adhere to what that actually entails, teaches, and promotes.
All that's good for is giving me people like me ground to stand on when proclaiming how silly it is for people to keep clinging to this religion we are very far removed from, to the point we collectively reject various Biblical prohibitions and permissions.

Yes

But my point is:

We cannot see all of our sin.

Just because a religion calls something sin, does not mean we will recognize it as such. I’m thinking some of my sins are unknown to me at this point.
When they are brought to my mind (by the Lord ONLY, not some other person), then I can make the effort to turn away from them.
If she is truly sinning (the point is, I cannot judge her), she must see it within herself, only through the help of the Lord.

Dude she knows what she's doing. She's pretty clear on that. It's her whole message.

You are correct.
Please look at some of my other comments.

I see a big difference between religion, and all their do’s and don’t s , and on the other hand, what the Lord desires.
My goal is to follow the Lord, not a religion full of man made rules and doctrines. Jesus says plenty of negative things about religion and man made doctrines.
Just my two cents.

It’s quite possible.
But I cannot know what she thinks.

I don’t believe that biblical definition of marriage is between a man and woman. Why? From reading the Bible in its entire context. From listening to the Lord. Not from what religion tells me. Religion sees the literal word and regardless of the incredible contradictions in the literal word, they refuse to let the Lord open their eyes to a more beautiful picture.

Did I open pandora’s box with that? Hope not.

My response to this breaks the rules so I won't post it.

Suffice it to say, no, this is not good.

We need to bring back sexual taboos, not let it all out.
It's all a question of which taboos.
Certainly, shaved weasels are incapable of consent.
But gay sex, S&M, B&D, furverts, etc....OK, long as
I don't gotta watch.

I mean, I'm not wearing underwear lots of times lol. It's comfy.
people have no idea how embarrassing it is for a grown man to buy underwear. Other shoppers be thinking "Don't you have a wife or mother to buy those for you?" It doesn't help that I boycott Amazon.
