Snow makes everything better, but especially airsoft.

Oh yeah, and here's me with my mom's doggum. He really didn't like the camera for some reason.

On Saturday nights or in this case, Sunday mornings, when I can't sleep, I play with my makeup and come up with all sorts of stupid looks. And then I take pictures of my "artwork".

It's mad fun, really, although it exemplifies that I'd benefit from a night life. Anyway, I got a new pair of falsies (lashes) and several awesome pigmented shadows to play with. This is what I came up with...

Sometimes, I go a bit overboard with my "playing". I learned a technique for making your face look frostbitten, using highlighters, glitter and eyeshadows. This didn't turn out like I envisioned but it was still fun to play.

I wrote a song that goes:

She stays up late, playing with her make-up
Au naturel or harlot, trailer trash or starlet, Vera has the tools
Look at the time, she says 'tomorrow I'll be wasted at the office'
But she knows that she'll be smiling and chipper when she's dialing, cuz Vera knows the rules.

Your pics reminded me of it. Maybe I'll bring it out of retirement.

That's awesome! :)

 is that a real sword?

.
Yep. I'm slicing through a target made of a rolled up tatami (a traditional Japanese woven mat made of bamboo).

Normally I practice iaido and use a dulled sword against an imaginary opponent. People who practice iaido (or sometimes kendo or aikido) use tameshigiri to make sure their technique is correct. This was my first seminar; I'd never actually cut anything with a sword before.

Thank you, I am a Red Belt in Hapkido. I will be going for my black belt sometime this year.

Neat - I don't really know that much about Korean martial arts. I've kinda stuck to Japanese disciplines: iaido, kendo and lately karate.

I'm ikkyu in iaido (it'd be the equivalent of brown belt, except we don't wear badges of rank). I'm planning to grade for shodan (i.e. black belt) this fall.
