They may be made in China; I'm not sure. The federal government has an approval process for e-bikes, and if they don't meet the Canadian standard, they're illegal for sale here... or they get classified as "mopeds" and have to meet a whole other (and more onerous) set of rules. I think that keeps the supply low and inflates the price a bit.You can try the ones from China (if there's any China made e bikes where you live). They're a bit cheaper I guess.
